How long until I see final results of my juvederm lip injections? My upper lip is too big 24 hours later. Should I dissolve it?

The lips can swell significantly after injections.  I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results.  I would not dissolve the filler in the lips at this timeI hope this helps  

Swelling is common after lip fillers and I recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before you considering dissolving. Now if you add more in the lower lip to match the upper lip you might want to wait until you get the final upper lip look so you can match accurately. 

It takes 2-3 weeks to see the final outcome of the lips.  Under correction and then adding more is best than trying to reverse the fillers.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for sharing your question.  Though difficult to offer definite advice without a series of photographs, the thin nature of the lip tissues do leave them prone to swelling.  This typically will resolve in 2-3 days after treatment while the augmentation results will soften and appear more natural over the next 2-3 weeks.  In the meantime, I would recommend cold compresses to your lips, sleeping with your head slightly elevated, and using oral/topical arnica and bromelain to help speed your healing.  Hope this helps.

Dear laney_bee,Juvederm has significant swelling post injection. I would follow up with you plastic surgeon but typically I tell all my patients to wait a full two weeks.  Generally at 2 weeks they are happy and glad they didn't dissolve.  Dissolving is unpredictable as well.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS

It is way too soon to judge on the final results. Depends on the technique of your physician, it may take for a while for the final results to show. 
Also it is important to know that dissolving of Lip Augmentation is NOT time sensitive, and can be done at any time, so there is no reason to rush to dissolve.  I hope I helped put your concerns at ease, we are here to help!

Swelling is common after lip injections and can take up to two weeks to resolve.  One third of a syringe is a very conservative amount, so you may notice that you enjoy the look as the swelling goes down.  If after two weeks you still have concerns, return to your injector for an evaluation.

Swelling from lip injections is normal and to be expected! It can take up to 2 weeks to fully resolve. It's still too early to tell what the final results from your injections will be. Give yourself a full 2 weeks to evaluate the final results. I suspect you will be feeling much better in the next couple days, as the swelling is typically the worst in the first couple days after injection. If you still have concerns after 2 weeks, I would schedule an appointment with your provider to discuss your options, including dissolving the product. It is not uncommon to develop swelling immediately following lip injection with hyaluronic acid, such as Juvederm. Such swelling will usually resolve in 1-2 weeks so I suggest you avoid any additional plumping or dissolving unless such timeline has passed. In the meantime, you could use ice to reduce swelling in the first couple days.
