I’m 19, but ever since I was little I’ve had hollow eyes. Due to my hollow eyes, it always makes me look more tired than I actually am. Which is frustrating. They are also pretty impossible to conceal. Because I am still quite young, I’m assuming getting a filler or a surgical procedure would be too much for me at this point. I’m wondering if there’s any cream or serum that helps with younger people who have this problem. Or any other route I’ve not heard of that I can take. Thanks!
Answer: Young Under Eye Hollows The FDA has approved use of certain fillers in patients 21 and over, although a physician injector can determine candidates for this procedure on an individual basis. A dermal filler can be a great non-surgical, minimally invasive solution for genetic under eye hollows---particularly Radiesse because of its ability to ability to avoid discoloration due to the Tyndall Effect. Additionally, an eye serum with caffeine and other antioxidants may help to calm the skin in the under eye area. There are also serums composed of hyaluronic acid, the main ingredient in dermal fillers such as Restalyane and Juvaderm, that may temporarily help with under eye hollows if used on a daily basis. Answer: Fillers Work For Under Eye Hollows & Tear Troughs Even In Young People Although intraorbital (under eye) tear troughs, hollows and dark circles are more common with aging, many young people exhibit these same problems based upon a family history background. Unfortunately, serums and creams are very unlikely to yield gratifying results. I have been treatingthese kinds of problems with injectable fillers for over three decades, ever since the introduction of the original Zyderm collagen filler. Today, we are very fortunate to have a whole variety of natural hyaluronic acid-based fillers for use under the eyes. In my NY office, I prefer Belotero Balance, since it possesses little to no tendency to engender the unwanted bluish/gray Tyndall Effect when injected superficially into the delicate tissues under the eyes. (In my Israel satellite facility, where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved fillers are available, I typically opt for Teosyal Redensity II for this region.) In experienced hands, treatment takes about ten minutes and the results typically evoke an immediate "Wow!" response. You would do well to consutl with a board certified aesthetic physician and make sure to ask to see his/her before and after photos before agreeing to proceed. Best of luck.

Answer: Eye hollows can be at any age Your photos show hollowing of the lower eyelid (nasojugal fold). Some people are genetically predisposed to this and it can occur at a young age. The appropriate correction should be volume addition - filler or fat- to the deficient area.

Answer: Hollow eyes in a young adult? Go ahead and get them filled! Thank you for your question. Many people think if you are young you have nothing to feel self conscience about. Not true! You obviously feel like your under eye area is making you look more tired than you are. Since you are 19, you are young and you most likely have this hollowness because you genetically inherited it. Lucky you. It doesn't mean you have to just live with it. If it really bothers you, you should get the hollowness filled. It will make you look less tired and because you are young chances are you don't need to much to look great. Because filler only lasts a year (or two), it's not a huge commitment and if you hate it you can have it taken out sooner by the doctor who put it in. You are a great candidate for this non invasive procedure. Good luck!

Answer: Dark hollows under eyes Hello, from your photos you look like you have "nasojugal grooves" or "tear trough deformity" that can be hereditary in some people and tend to get worse with age as you lose fat in those areas. 19 is not too young to have filler here and that could be an excellent option for you as it would fill the hollow and lessen the shadowing effect. If you prefer a more natural option, PRP (platelet rich plasma) is taken from your own blood and contains high concentrations of growth factors that can strengthen and thicken the lower eyelid skin so that the hollows and shadowing are less prominent. I would couple this with microneedling of the lower eyelids for better penetration of the PRP. Make sure you find a qualified injector. I hope this helps! - Dr. Leong
