Thanks for your inquiry, I suggest you discuss this with your surgeon also. You cannot do Neosporin and taping because the tape will come off.
Thank you for your question and photographs. My advice is to avoid ointment on incisions. That being said, best to follow the specific instructions from your plastic surgeon regarding incision cleaning and care. Good luck.
Gonzalezz 3. Another question for your surgeon, but after 2 days, if there are no openings within your incisions, mild soap and water is all you should need. Antibiotic ointment for any areas that are superficially open. Give your surgeon a call to confirm all postop instructions. Good luck!
This question is best answered by your surgeon as opinions vary. Contact your surgeon's office to determine what items you will need at home to care for your incisions after surgery. Make sure that you understand how to care for your incisions and drains, what to look for in terms of "red flags", and who to call if you have concerns.
Congratulations! It is best to ask your own plastic surgeon what he/she prefers, as we all have different preferences after surgery. In my opinion, alcohol is too drying, peroxide kills both the bad and good bacteria (not ideal), and neosporin causes a lot of people to develop a rash! The post-op care will depend on how your plastic surgeon closed the wound - invisible stitches? stitches on the skin? skin glue? steri-strips? ...Best to call your surgeon's office to ask.
Thank you for your question! Always consult with your treating plastic surgeon to check if what you're doing is right, sometimes a simple inquiry could save you from a dehiscence or an infected wound.
These are all questions for your operating surgeons office. Everyone has different post op instructions and their reasons for them so his or her staff is your best resource at this time. Best wishes.Dean Vistnes, MD. Vistnes Plastic SurgerySan Francisco Bay #drdeanvistnes #realself #mommymakeover
An epidural is a type of nerve block. Yes it is the same one that is used during childbirth. For the procedures you are considering I recommend general anesthesia. This is for your safety, your comfort during the procedure, as well as giving your surgeon the opportunity to maximize your results.
From the posted photo it does appear your skin is sensitive to the paper tape. I encourage you to contact your surgeon. She/He can advise what alternative is recommended for you. If any further medications are needed that can be addressed as well.
The recovery after a mommy makeover is usually such that you are able to go the bathroom on your own. That being said, it is wise to have another person available so that they can help "spot" you do not fall when trying to go the bathroom, and so they can help you in preparing meals,...
