Tummy tuck with hernia and muscle repair 6 months ago. I still wear Spanx during the day. At night before bed, I'm still swollen. I'm also sore, don't like my stomach touched as it's numb and feels weird. I have kept all post op appointments and Dr is pleased with the results and says everything looks great. Is swelling at 6 months normal? Thanks!

Answer: Swelling Dear lilybeth2133, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Swelling after surgery. Hello lilybeth2133, I hope you are doing excellent. In any aesthetic surgical procedure swelling is normal. There is no exact date at which you have to be completely unswollen, it depends on many factors that have to do with surgery and mainly with you and your after surgery care. Most of the patients have certain degree of swelling at the sixth month after surgery. Also, there are several things as medications, aparatology or manual massages that you can use at this point. Of course, it is very important to ask for the approbation of your plastic surgeon. Do not worry, ask your surgeon and everything will be just fine. I hope this information can help you.
