Ok, so I had a 2 step j-pouch surgery 2.5 years ago. I'm completely healed from that. The surgery was mostly laparoscopic but they did end up needing to switch to open, which left me with a c-section type scar. I have the old ostomy site scar an the c-section looking one. Sent pics of my abdomen to the surgeons office and they are telling me they would like me to have a CT scan before the consult? Does this sound normal?

Answer: Why do I require a CT scan before tummy tuck?
Each surgeon has their own way of doing things.
Ideally patients should review everything and have a clear understanding before committing to having surgery.
The fact that your surgeon wasn’t thorough with you during the consultation should’ve been a sign of how they run their practice.

If you are able to pinch the area it may improve with liposuction. I encourage you to return to your surgeon for an evaluation. Since the concern seems to be persistent you may want to explore a second opinion as well.
There are generally a couple options. First is liposuction to flatten the area - sounds like you already tried this and are still having less than ideal results. Second option would be to revise the scar trying to even the level between the pubic area and lower abdominal skin.
