Massage on scars by therapist?

Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. There are options for treating scars. Silicone sheeting, scar gel, lasers, etc. Massaging may also help. Schedule a consultation with a plastic surgeon office and/or massage therapist to discuss you options.

Bonjour. Les cicatrices suite à une réduction mammaire sont souvent épaisses. Elles mettent en général quelques années avant de prendre leur aspet définitif, meme si elles ont tendance à s'élargir. Je vous conseille d'acheter des "silicone tapes" que vous pouvez trouver sur Amazon, par exemple, meme en forme de "lollipop" ou alors d'ancre, selon le type de réduction que vous avez subi. Le plus important, c'est d'etre patient, les cicatrices de ce type mettent plusieurs années avant de devenir plates et pales. Merci de votre question et bonne installation aux E-U!

You can actually massage your own scars. The therapist can show you any tricks. I recommend scar products like Mederma or Scar guard or the scar tapes.
