I don't like the lower half of my face and I'm not sure how to address the asymmetrical look of it. I am not sure which of the following would best improve my lower face asthetics: chin implant, massater botox, chin filler, buccal fat removal. Which procedure would help the most? And what exactly is wrong with my face (I can't pinpoint it exactly)

Answer: How to improve facial esthetics Unfortunately, without a series of good photos and/or in person evaluation it would be difficult to give you any advice. It would be best to see a board certified plastic surgeon and address these issues in person or by teleconference. Good luck.

Even classical artists throughout history have been incorporated, facial asymmetry into classical works of art. if you look at computer generated perfectly symmetrical faces, you may notice they have an odd unfamiliar, and to some peoples opinion unattractive appearance. Facial attractiveness is not based on symmetry, but rather based on balance. Your face is fairly symmetrical by most people standards. Most people have more asymmetry than you do. The fact that you don’t recognize this means that the human brain is an accustomed to seeing a symmetry has been normal. Most people have more asymmetry than you do. We typically don’t focus on other peoples facial asymmetry because the brain sees it as being normal, which is what it is. If you want an assessment for chin augmentation, then your picture needs to include your chin. Perhaps this part of your picture got left out from how the website cropped your picture. A chin assessment is much better done with a profile picture. Personally, I don’t see a strong indication for any intervention at all. I think your face is overall well balanced, and attractive. As I mentioned earlier, the degree of asymmetry is actually less than average. If you want to have treatments at improving your Aesthetic appearance, then Botox and fillers is probably your best option. These treatments have fairly high patient satisfaction and are extremely forgiving. If people don’t like the result or outcome. I recommend patient be careful when it comes to permanent and potentially reversible surgical intervention. To get an idea of what facial enhancement with facial volume restoration Ketchie consider looking at some of the before, and after pictures on the website of Dr. David Mabie MD in San Francisco. He is a facial plastic surgeon whose practice is focused exclusively on facial augmentation using fillers. His work is some of the best I’ve ever seen. His website has an impressive collection of before and after pictures of patients of many different persuasions, including Young, old, all different racial backgrounds. I’m not suggesting everybody fly to San Francisco to get facial fillers, but understanding what these treatments can accomplish can be helpful and assessing other providers in your local community. Once people understand what the gold standard is, they have something to compare to in regards to judging other providers outcomes. His work is the best I’ve ever seen, and I personally refer patients to his practice for those who want the very best. I should also point out that his work is quite expensive in comparison to what most people charge. Sometimes we have to pay for quality work. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
