Is Rhinoplasty the right option for bulbous/droopy noses? Or can filler also be an option as well? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Hello and thank you for your question. Addressing the shape of your nose (especially the nasal tip) is actually one of the most common reasons people seek out and undergo a rhinoplasty. Unfortunately, there are no good non-surgical approaches which would properly achieve what you're looking for (and nasal filler carries the risk of blindness)! An open septorhinoplasty can best address both your aesthetic concerns and any functional issues with your nose. I would be able to adjust the size, shape, and definition of your nose (including the tip)! This truly is a surgery of millimeters- and whether you're looking for a minor adjustment or a major transformation, it requires exceptional surgical skill to achieve functional and natural-looking results! Because your nose is the DEFINING feature of your face- I would only recommend seeing a surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty procedures, and who has significant training and experience performing these surgeries. I actually trained under one of the world leading rhinoplasty experts (who performs 1,000+ nosejobs annually). I recommend for you to setup a formal consultation with me (or another plastic surgeon who is extremely comfortable with rhinoplasties) to thoroughly discuss your surgical goals, undergo a formal examination, evaluate your options, and develop a personalized plan just for you. I hope this helps! Dr. Donald Groves Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon

Pain 4 years post op rhinoplasty - what could cause this?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Hello and thank you for your question. I'm so sorry to hear about your situation, that sounds incredibly frustrating! It could be due to pressure to the tip skin from below, but without any pictures and an in-person exam it's hard to say exactly. Regardless, a revision rhinoplasty can best address your aesthetic concerns and any functional issues with your nose. I would be able to adjust the size, shape, and definition of your nose. I'd be able to open up and solidly reinforce the underlying structural framework of your nose (to prevent distortion and retraction from scarring forces over time)- and to address the pain, I could soften the interface between this and the overlying skin using a special type of graft that most other surgeons don't know about! Revision rhinoplasty is truly a surgery of millimeters- they are the most technically challenging procedures in all of plastic surgery! Because your nose is the DEFINING feature of your face- I would only recommend seeing a surgeon who specializes in revision rhinoplasty procedures, and who has significant training and experience performing these surgeries. I actually trained under one of the world leading revision rhinoplasty experts (who performs 1,000+ nosejobs annually). If you are unhappy with the appearance of your nose, I recommend for you to setup a formal consultation with me (or another plastic surgeon who is extremely comfortable with revision rhinoplasties) to thoroughly discuss your surgical goals, undergo a formal examination, evaluate your options, and develop a personalized plan just for you. Is the morph achievable through rhinoplasty and genioplasty? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Hello and thank you for your question and the pictures. Addressing the shape of your nose is actually one of the most common reasons people seek out and undergo a rhinoplasty. An open septorhinoplasty can best address both your aesthetic concerns and any functional issues with your nose. I would be able to adjust the size, shape, and definition of your nose (particularly the bridge and the tip)! You would have an amazing (and natural-looking) result! I see you're also interested in augmenting your chin. The best way to properly address this is with a chin implant to improve the overall harmony of your facial features, especially from your side profile. It's actually pretty common to need both procedures instead of just the rhinoplasty! I could even perform both procedures at the same time. Rhinoplasty truly is a surgery of millimeters- and whether you're looking for a minor adjustment or a major transformation, it requires exceptional surgical skill to achieve functional and natural-looking results! I also trained under a world-renowned master of complex facial aesthetics! I recommend for you to setup a formal consultation with me (or another plastic surgeon who is extremely comfortable with both rhinoplasties and chin implants) to thoroughly discuss your surgical goals, undergo a formal examination, evaluate your options, and develop a personalized plan just for you. Nose is lopsided. Is septorhinoplasty worth it to fix one side of the nose? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Hello and thank you for your question. Addressing the shape of your nose (especially the nostrils and tip) is actually one of the most common reasons people seek out and undergo a rhinoplasty. An open septorhinoplasty can best address both your aesthetic concerns and any functional issues with your nose. I would be able to straighten your nose, and adjust the size, shape, and definition of your nose (including making the nostrils and tip more symmetric)! With rhinoplasty, doing less actually leads to WORSE results, because you need to fully open things up and solidly reinforce the underlying structural framework to resist all the distorting and warping forces of scarring that occur in the years after surgery. Anyone that tells you otherwise is doing you a huge disservice! Nostril Asymmetry After Rhinoplasty - simple fix or revision? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Hello and thank you for your question and pictures. I can see what you're talking about, but it's still early so it's hard to fully tell since the swelling (especially on the tip) can be asymmetric. Typically it takes up to 1-2 years for all the swelling to fully resolve, so it's too soon to tell what the final result will look like. I never use ear cartilage since it's so flimsy. If you are still unhappy with the appearance of your tip/nostrils once the swelling resolves more, you might need a revision rhinoplasty to properly correct your issue and to solidly reinforce the entire underlying framework to assure you get the BEST long term results (to prevent distortion and retraction from scarring forces over time). What causes a sideways nose like this & can it be corrected with surgery? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Hello and thank you for your question and the pictures. Addressing the shape of your nose and straightening a crooked nose are actually two of the most common reasons people seek out and undergo a rhinoplasty. You are an excellent candidate for surgery! An open septorhinoplasty can best address both your aesthetic concerns and any functional issues with your nose. I would be able to straighten your nose, and at the same time adjust the size, shape, and definition of your nose! This truly is a surgery of millimeters- and whether you're looking for a minor adjustment or a major transformation, it requires exceptional surgical skill to achieve functional and natural-looking results! Am I possibly a candidate for Nonsurgical Nose Job? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Hello and thank you for your question and the pictures. Addressing the shape of your nose (especially the dorsum) is actually one of the most common reasons people seek out and undergo a rhinoplasty. Unfortunately, there are no good non-surgical approaches which would properly achieve what you're looking for since your radix and dorsum are already high (and the ones that exist- e.g. nasal filler- carry the risk of blindness)! An open septorhinoplasty can best address both your aesthetic concerns and any functional issues with your nose. I would be able to adjust the size, shape, and definition of your nose (particularly the dorsal)! It also appears you have a "weak chin" relative to the rest of your facial features- the best way to properly address this is with a chin implant to improve the overall harmony of your facial features, especially from your side profile. It's actually pretty common to need both procedures instead of just the rhinoplasty! Rhinoplasty truly is a surgery of millimeters- and whether you're looking for a minor adjustment or a major transformation, it requires exceptional surgical skill to achieve functional and natural-looking results! Because your nose is the DEFINING feature of your face- I would only recommend seeing a surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty procedures, and who has significant training and experience performing these surgeries. Lost nose tip projection years after rhinoplasty, I'm wondering if my tip has been stabilized? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Hello and thank you for your question and pictures. I can see what you're talking about but it's hard to fully tell based on these pictures- a lot of them are cut off. In general, it takes up to 2 years for all the swelling to fully resolve, and by 7 years out, things should be pretty stable. That said, if you are unhappy with the appearance of your nose (especially tip projection), you would likely need a revision rhinoplasty to properly correct your issue and to solidly reinforce the entire underlying framework to assure you get the BEST long term results (to prevent distortion and retraction from scarring forces over time). Revision rhinoplasty is truly a surgery of millimeters- they are the most technically challenging procedures in all of plastic surgery! Fraxel Laser

Made sure I was comfortable

I had fraxel and v-beam laser treatments done with Dr. Groves a little over 2 weeks ago. This was my 3rd and final treatment for some surgical scars that were about 12 months old. I wanted to wait until I was healed before posting the review as there is a bit of bruising and scabbing afterwards. The first two treatments were performed by two different individuals. I noticed more improvement from this third treatment than I did from the first two combined. Granted the healing time for the bruises and scabs to dissipate was longer this time around but absolutely worth the extra time to heal. Before the procedure numbing cream is applied and you wait for about 30min, maybe a little longer. During my wait Dr. Groves made sure I was comfortable (dimmed the lights, gave me the remote to control the music on the TV, reclined the chair). He’s a competent and considerate individual. I wouldn’t hesitate to get any type of laser procedures done with him in the future. I’ll be requesting him going forward.

Great Doctor! Very Assuring, Communicative and Highly Skilled.

Had a septoplasty that went wrong elsewhere some twenty years ago and finally took the chance to get it fixed at Dr. Emer's office and, honestly, I couldn’t be happier with the decision. Dr. Groves went above and beyond to make sure I felt safe, comfortable and assured leading into the surgery and made sure I was happy with the final result. He listened to my concerns, answered any questions I had throughout, easy to reach if I had some after hours concerns during the recovery stage and of course, he took the time needed to make sure the surgery would lead to the best results possible. Two weeks after the operation and you can barely tell I had a 9 hour surgery to fix my nose. You're in good hands here.
