I have this rash around my belly button that I think is from a type of gauze I used 2 days post op or from safeguard soap not sure. Should I use cortisone or something on it? It doesn't itch but it's nasty looking.
Answer: What should I do about this rash around my belly button after tummy tuck? There can be many causes for your rash. It looks like a fungal rash. However, without an assessment it is impossible to say for sure. Contact your surgeon. Regards,

Answer: Skin rash This is either an allergic reaction to the tape that was used or possibly a fungal rash. I would recommend a steroid containing fungal cream like Mycolog. You should definitely check with your plastic surgeon and follow their recommendations. Good luck!

Answer: What should I do about this rash around my belly button after tummy tuck? Thank you for sharing your photographs and question. This area of redness does appear to be an allergic reaction based on the appearance and pattern as well as your narrative of gauze and soap use. Gentle washing of the area, intake of benadryl or oral steroids, topical ointments or steroid creams should all help alleviate your symptoms. Make sure you have close follow up with your surgeon to ensure steady improvement until complete clearance takes place. Hope this helps.

Answer: Rash I would see your PS for an examination and advice. It looks like dermatitis and possibly due to a reaction to a dressing?
