Is it normal to leak fluid from my tummy tuck incision at 29 days post op? (Photo)

A tummy tuck surgery will leave your abdomen bruised and swollen, which will gradually subside over a period of one to two weeks. At a month, you should not be leaking and should be well on your way to a full recovery.  You need to be examined by your plastic surgeon to find out why this complication is happening and what can be done to make it subside as soon as possible.  These types of complications are common but if left untreated can cause issues.  

Thank you glawrence1 for your question.  Congratulations on your surgery.  It is not normal to be leaking fluid after a tummy tuck procedure.  Sometimes a seroma can build up and it needs to be drained. I would recommend following up with your Plastic Surgeon for a in office evaluation. Best of luck to you. 

Thanks for your inquiry, hard to evaluate from your pictures.  In general not normal to have large volume of fluid coming out of incision 29 days later.  Best to visit your plastic surgeon, should be able to give you a good answer.  

A tummy tuck is a procedure that will have varying healing times from patient to patient but at most you should feel and see results within a week or two. As it has been 29 days I highly suggest you contact your plastic surgeon to discuss what is happening. If you are having a complication it is important to bring it to their attention as soon as possible to ensure the best results.

Leaking from the incision line could mean that you have a serum which is a collection of fluid under the skin. This will need to be drained so you should definitely follow up with your operating surgeon as soon as you can
