I decided to get a tummy tuck / diastasis recti repair with lipo after having a set of twins at 42. I'd already had 2 other children so my core strength and appearance weren't great even after years of going to the gym working with trainers I couldn't get rid of the "pooch" and I suffered from lower back pain. After consulting 8 Dr.'s over about 2 years I decided on Dr. Alain Polynice in Montecito California. He seemed quite honest and has a kind demeanor. Some surgeons seem a bit condescending or impatient , Dr Polynice was straightforward but always kind. He assured me that m recovery would be manageable and it totally was. After hearing horror stories about tummy tuck recovery I was definitely pleasantly surprised at how easy my recovery was. At no point did I experience severe pain, I actually quit taking prescription medication after day 2,I just took Tylenol. I would say the experience was what I might describe as uncomfortable rather that painful. Also I feel like his price was quite fair especially considering his expertise and the location of his practice. I am about 6 weeks post surgery so I still have some swelling but that's to be expected. If you're considering a tummy tuck I would say go for it, I have zero regrets and only wish I had done it sooner
I had pretty severe complications (necrotizing fasciitis) after having my daughter 9 years ago. Two blood transfusions and 7 surgeries later, I was left with a T-shaped scar from my belly button down. After I lost the some of the baby weight, I was left with approximately 3 inches of hanging skin. Dr. Polynice was amazing from the get-go. He appeared to genuinely care about his patients as many of the females working at the William’s Center have had undergone surgeries by his hand. They all had nothing but wonderful things to say… to include all of the reviews I read online. The level of comfortability was second to none. I am extremely thankful for Dr. polynice as well as his staff. There is one portion of the care I do not believe I was adequately prepared for. Removal of the drains was honestly excruciating. I wish there had been some pain medicine administered prior to having this done as well as a better indication of the level of pain I would experience during this. I know the nurses did their best to make the process as quick as possible, however, I would sincerely advise someone looking into getting this procedure to better prepare themselves for this and do some research on methods to minimize or subdue the pain. I will say that while it was painful, it only lasted for a few seconds. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my results. It was worth every single penny spent as I now (finally) feel comfortable in my own skin!
Loved Dr. Polynice! Great bedside manner. I got a breast augmentation with BBL. I love the boob job however I do feel as though he should have put more cc’s into my butt. You can see an improvement however not as much as I would have liked.
Dr. Polynice is an amazing surgeon. He gave me the confidence I needed after having breast augmentation. His professionalism is demonstrated in his bed side manner, skill and expertise. I am so happy with my results and would recommend Dr. Polynice to any one interested taking the surgical route.
I had my Brazilian butt lift in July 2019. The results is not what I wanted but the dr. Is willing to do a round 2 to address my issues. I do not feel enough fat was taken out or put into my butt (500ccs). My butt looked good a couple days after but noticed it going down by the second week.
I recommend the pain pump it was the best thing . I did get a blood clot in my leg not sure how because I did walk . The only thing I did regret no food or drink after Midnight and then they give you a Percocet when prepping you I felt like I was gonna faint . The nurse came right in sat me up put something in my ivy and everything was better .
Dr.Polynice is a perfectionist! He did my breast augmentation and I couldn’t be happier! He makes you feel so comfortable, as well as his staff! Everyone in the office and surgery center is amazing! I was very nervous and everyone made me feel very comfortable!
I highly recommend Dr. Polynice. I’m a health care provider and asked around about who was the best plastic surgeon in the area. Many people pointed me to Dr Polynice including other surgeons. He is kind with an excellent bedside manner and also is highly surgically skilled. He fixed a very severe diastasis recti that I had and his work is flawless. He is amazing and so is his nurse Mimi. The surgery was life changing and I can’t thank him enough!
Dr. Polynice is an incredibly talented surgeon. My experience with him and his nurse Mimi was exceptional. I truly felt cared about. I felt 100% confident going into my surgery and am so pleased with the results. He has truly changed the way I feel about myself. I would highly recommend him to anyone with no hesitation. I can't say enough good things about him.
Thank you Dr. Polynice and all of your wonderful staff and nurses particularly Mimi who made me feel so special and beautiful from beginning to end of my surgery. you are all so caring and supportive and always where there with any questions and concerns that I may have had throughout my journey. Your professionalism and caring was above and beyond any experience I have ever had with a doctor. you held my hand, and truly listened to me with any concerns I may have had, no matter how big or small. Thank you for changing my life.
First, let me congratulate you on your weight loss! I looked at your photos, and I think that you are a great candidate for your mommy makeover, which includes a tummy tuck with Lipo 360 and a breast lift with augmentation. The question of whether or not to use drains, depends on the technique used, indeed, there are ways to do this operation and not use drains, but that does not guarantee that you would not have a fluid accumulation or seroma postoperatively, that could still happen. Many plastic surgeons also do these procedures on an outpatient basis so it’s not uncommon for you to go home the same day while other doctors operate at hospitals or surgery centers feel more comfortable having the patient stay overnight. The decision to stay or not to stay overnight also depends on the overall health of each individual patient. It looks like you did your research and consulted with a board-certified surgeon with many years of experience Best of luck.
The first step would be to make sure that there is nothing wrong with the actual implant and the best way to do that is to be assessed by a board certified plastic surgeon and possibly get an MRI. That would be the best way to evaluate the implant and the surrounding tissues. Based on your photos you are very thin and there appears to be a contour deformity above the implant, in the right patient this can sometimes be corrected with fat transfer to the chest to correct the volume deficit.
First let me congratulate you on your weight loss! The first step is to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in body contouring to discuss the areas that bother you the most. Looking at your photos I would recommend a procedure that would address the excess skin along the abdomen and create more shape to the back and buttocks. That can be achieved with a tummy tuck with 360 liposuction and fat transfer to the buttocks and hip dips to create that snatched contoured shape. Best of luck on your body transformation journey!
First of all let me congratulate you on your weight loss. Losing 140 pounds is amazing! It’s the best thing that you could’ve done as far as your health is concerned, but now there’s all the excess skin to deal with. Body contouring surgery after weight loss can be one of the most rewarding procedures, because the transformations can be dramatic, but it’s very important to find a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in these types of procedures. It is very common to combine procedures, most often you would combine the abdomen and breasts, but very often we also include thigh and arm procedures as well. The most important thing to consider, when combining procedures is the length of the surgeries because you want to minimize the amount of time spent in the OR. When I do body contouring procedures, I try to limit the OR time to six hours because I believe that this will minimize the possibility of postoperative complications. The key thing is to discuss these options with your surgeon and go over which procedures are most important to you.
Thank you for your question! This is something that comes up quite frequently during consultation. The term 'tuberous breast deformity' refers to a specific set of characteristics that are used to describe a particular breast shape. Some of these characteristics include a narrow breast, overall constricted skin envelope, a fibrous band around the areola, and herniation of breast tissue into the areola, among others. Patients that have tuberous breasts typically would benefit from a procedure that would take care of all the above-mentioned issues, usually, this would mean a mastopexy (breast lift) augmentation with an incision around the nipple. Very importantly, however, tuberous breast deformity can be thought of as a spectrum and while some people might have all of the characteristics, some people might have one or two, and these may not be as severe. With all the above said, from the pictures it appears that the main component of what is shown is sagging of the breasts as well as slightly narrower breasts and some asymmetry. In order to help you achieve overall better shape, symmetry, and contour, the best course of action would be to seek a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in breast and body surgery and that has ample experience in the field.
