This is very common especially if the abdomen, inner thighs or buttock are treated. I suggest speaking to your physician if you are concerned. The body drains down so all the swelling form above moves to the gentials and stays there till it is moved out of the lymphatics or drained. Best, Dr. Emer.
I am sorry that you are having concerns about your procedureand thanks for sharing your question. I can appreciate yourconcern. It is normal. It is similar to the effectof and atomic bomb. The main area ofwork has the most damage, but the surrounding areas will get the collateraldamage. Swelling is the extension of the trauma that your body underwent withyour surgery. Finally, make sure that your doctor isaware of your process. He should be able to guide you best in your care.Wishing you the best in your journey
It's not unusual at all to have swelling in the vaginal area after these procedures, especially if the liposuction is in the lower abdomen or the mons. Also many times a garment is worn with an open crotch, this allows the swelling to settle in the vaginal area as it is not being compressed by the garment. Eric Weiss MD
Occurs quite commonly and swelling alone is not indicitative of a problem particularly if liposuction was performed nearby. If concern persists contact your doctor.
It is very possible for you to have swelling of the vaginal area after liposuction, but you should check with your surgeon. If you had liposuction of the abdominal area, it is likely.
It is normal to have areas of the lower body very swollen after liposuction. Usually all that is needed is time to settle these areas. If it persists after a few months then I would contact my surgeon.
It's not at all uncommon to have swelling in the vaginal regions, mons pubis, etc., when lipo (and/or other procedures) have been done in surrounding areas, including the abdomen, buttocks, and other nearby regions. From that standpoint, it sounds like this is within the range of effects to be expected. However, you should touch base with your PS to be sure. The members of this forum cannot, of course, know the specifics of your anatomy and exactly what was done surgically; both of which would be required for a full and complete discussion of what's going on.I hope that this helps and good luck,Dr. Alan EnglerMember of #RealSelf100
I normally advise no exercise for three weeks post-op and then, depending on what procedure(s) were done and how the patient is doing, light exercise - starting slowly, and advancing as tolerated. You should, of course, follow the guidelines of your own surgeon. If there is any question, I...
Although you can expect to see some improvement in waistline inches after liposuction, it's important to be realistic about your expectations. Lipo works best to slim down isolated pockets of fat that diet and exercise haven't been able to resolve, so first focus on reaching your target weight...
Thank you for your question. Compression garments help reduce the swelling after surgery, but in Atlanta heat and humidity these garments can be intolerable. Each surgeon will have their preferred post operative dressings, but typically after four weeks patients can transition to a...
