I weigh 154 lbs. I am 5 foot zero. I want to have my arms, stomach, hips, chin, legs and butt done. How much is the average cost of full body? How long is the healing process? How much time do you need off work? Can I lose 40 lbs from liposuction? I am slowly changing my eating habits and I am more active at work and after work, will that be enough to keep the weight off?

Full body liposuction could improve your shape and size.  However, liposuction is not a weight loss procedure and you should not expect to lose any significant weight by liposuction.

Based on your posted photos and height and weight, your BMI is 30. You are a good candidate for VASER sculpting of all those areas listed. All these areas can be sculpted in one surgery under I.V. sedation and tumescent anesthesia, except the chin/neck. This can be done under local anesthesia only. Your whole body can be reshaped to look more athletic with an hourglass figure. What will not happen, is that you will not loose 40lbs from surgery. You need to continue to change your eating and excessive habits to get the weight loss. You will need 10 days to 2 weeks off work. Initial healing is 2-3 weeks. The whole healing process will take 4-6 months, you will be in a compression garment for 4 weeks and compression stockings for 6-8 weeks if you need your calves and ankles done. are typically long-lasting provided that a stable weight is maintained. It is good to maintain a healthy lifestyle even after surgery.

Hello there and thank you for your questions.  Several things I would like to address and make sure you are aware of before you move forward.  First, liposuction should not be used as a method to lose weight, it is used to help remove fat from certain areas, but will likely not make a difference in the number you see on the scale and it does not prevent you from gaining weight back in the treated area or other areas.  Second, a maximum of 5 liters of fat can be removed from an individual during one surgery.  If you plan on treating most of your body, this would likely require 2 separate procedures.  In our office, we have patients wear compression garments for 6 weeks postoperatively to help with swelling.  Most of them are able to return to daily activities pretty quickly, just feel very sore in the days after surgery.  I recommend that you visit a board-certified plastic surgeon in person in order better evaluate your body and develop a treatment plan that will be able to meet your goals.  Good luck.

First of all liposuction is not a substitute for a weight-loss procedure.It is a body contouring procedure.As such, liposuction rarely removes significant amounts of weight.40 pounds of weight would be inconceivable for someone your size.  However, if you lost 40 pounds on your own you would most likely not need liposuction and would save thousands of dollars. Not only that but you would most likely look much better losing 40 pounds then getting liposuction.  that is not to say you are not a candidate to have liposuction.You appear to be a good candidate for the procedure and would most likely I appreciate the improvements that could be achieved. There is a lot of marketing and spin regarding various forms of liposuction.In the end the name of the equipment or toted technique has little to do with outcomes.There's also a vast array of different talents in doctors performing these techniques.Anything from spectacular body transformations to grotesque irreparable  disfigurement Should you choose to move forward with this procedure then by far the most important decision you have to make is which surgeon to go to. Liposuction prices vary but I usually charge per area.Expect to pay approximately $1500 per area typically when they several area minimum to maintain that price. You may also need to pay for a facility or operating room fee as well as a possible anesthesia fee.  Liposuction can be done without the use of general anesthesia though some plastic surgeons prefer to use general anesthesia for this type of procedure. If you feel like you have plateaued in regards to weight-loss then moving forward with liposuction may be reasonable.If possible I would urge you to continue with weight loss. Yes you can lose 40 lbs with liposuction but it would take at 4 - 5 sessions of large volume liposuction with each session requiring a general anesthetic, many weeks for healing, time off work and exercise, etc.  I think the time and money and risk makes liposuction a very unreasonable way to lose your excess weight.  And here is the bigger issue:  If the fat is removed surgically and you don't have your diet and exercise in a healthy and good place, you will likely regain some of the weight and where that weight goes cannot be predicted.  You would end up with fat along your back, across your chest and in your arms or even worse, inside your belly around your internal organs.  My advice is to spend your money and time on a trainer and nutritionist who can help you establish healthy habits.  Most of my patients who have lost weight have had a weight loss buddy or have attended programs like Weight Watchers or Overeaters Anonymous.   Losing weight and keeping it off is hard work and hard to do without some help.
