I had a wonderful earlobe repair experience with Dr Larry Pollack. His office staff and nurse Kendall were extremely professional and kind. The process was quick and straightforward. The healing process is going perfectly and better than I expected. If you are thinking about repairing your earlobes after stretched ears, do it!!! I did my research for this and I am so happy with my results and choice! Thank you Dr Pollack & team!!!
I had a fabulous experience with Dr Pollack, his office, and the Sharps staff so far (explant was only today). You can tell Dr Pollack is very experienced. I had both breast implants removed. My reasons were many. First, I have changed a lot over the year and a half I’ve had them and decided to live a more holistic lifestyle. My definition of holistic does not include foreign substances in the body. I also just had general breast pain for over half the month since getting the implants. I also felt I had random symptoms that *could* be a result of the beginning of breast implant illness. I felt getting them removed was best and did not feel any judgment from Dr Pollack or his staff. I traveled from across states to have this procedure done and Kate in his office was amazing- helpful, compassionate, kind. The staff at Sharps Outpatient Pavilion was nothing short of incredible. I’ve never felt so genuinely cared for. All I wanted was Peet’s coffee all day and sure enough I got it after surgery from the nurse. What an incredible team of people that listened and passed no judgment in a world that is easy to judge. If you are considering Dr Pollack for surgery (gosh I’m sure any surgery) you can’t go wrong. It’s too early for photos and I’m too scared to take this compression bra off but I can update with photos later.
Back in 2017 I had 2 rounds of lipo and bbl in Mexico. The second round was to fix the first. It was a total mess and my butt was left very lopsided and uneven. I came across Dr. Pollack's work in 2021 and decided to go with him after the consultation because he didn't try to tell me I needed other things done. He was very nice and caring about my embarrassing situation. I booked with him that day and a month later I had my surgery at the sharp out patient pavilion. It was amazing compared to the butcher shop in Mexico. I literally didn't want to leave. The nurses and Doctors were all so nice. Dr. Pollack really did a great job on me. I really have gained my confidence back. I can finally wear shirts that don't cover my butt. I look normal now! I also got neck lipo, tummy lipo and lipo to the flanks. But my main concern was the butt. I definitely recommend Dr. Pollack if you are in my situation and need a revision/ reduction. Thank you Dr. Pollack!
I came across his work while doing my research on RS. Reading the positive reviews and seeing his great results made him a top candidate for me. I scheduled my consultation and that sealed the deal! He was informative, knowledgeable and very honest. I took my husband to my first pre-op appointment and he answers all 981 questions my husband had LOL. I couldn’t be happier with my results...
Let’s start off with a little background info on myself: I’m a 25yo male who achieved a 90lb weight loss prior to my tummy tuck operation. For the past few years I’ve been very active and follow a healthy diet (gym 5-6 days a week, outdoor running, high protein/fat & low carb diet, combined with intermittent fasting). Unfortunately my skin elasticity couldn’t withstand my excessive weight gain during my childhood (245lbs heaviest to 162lbs pre-op). After realizing that the loose skin and protruding belly couldn’t be resolved without surgery, I began looking into abdominoplasty surgeons in the San Diego area (my hometown though I live in San Francisco currently) because I knew I would need to be taken care of the first few days by a relative (my mother in this case). My surgeon from start to finish in regards to the operation always made me feel very assured and at ease during all my office visits leading up to the surgery. Although the first few days were extremely rough, the results observed at my 4 day post op visit made me realize it was so worth it. I had my loose skin removed, muscles tightened, and liposuction (with my scar line extending past my sides/flanks. The recovery process following this operation is by no means easy, expectedly I took about 18 days off work. The first 3 days I was bed ridden, by day 6 I was walking upright again (slight hunching still), and by day 14 I felt relatively “normal”. Along with easing into walking again and feeling of tightness in your core area, not being able to shower with drains in place, and the extreme itching I experienced from my core binder and gauze/tape in place was intense for myself. Overall I have to say all of the discomfort has been worth it so far. The photos I’m sharing in this initial review are my pre-op photo (night before op) and post-op photo (4 days post). I will share updated photos closer to my 1 month mark. Thanks for reading! Updated on 28 Jan 2020: Here are the results of my initial tummy tuck surgery 10 months post op. Extremely happy with how everything has healed and having flat abdomen. A few months post initial surgery my surgeon identified the potential need for a revision on my flanks but suggested we wait a decent amount of time ensure all swelling went down. My second operation will be a revision of the flanks (removing more skin with liposuction) and extended my scar further around my back this time to achieve a more contoured waist line and reduction of flanks.
I have my surgery scheduled with Dr pollack on June 3 for the first stage of my surgeries. I’m excited to work with Dr pollack and team after seeing my best friends lift/augmentation. I have met with 6 other surgeons and felt like I had the best connection with him and got to see his work in person. A little about me: I was naturally a 32F when I was younger. After my daughter that I breastfed for 18 months I went down to a 36DD. After a few losses and a stillbirth, I still wear 36DD but I don’t fill it out. I want to be back to an E/F. Dr pollack said I would have enough tissue to be a large C small D and thought we should stage it out to maximize my results. He said we could do the augmentation 3-6 months after the first surgery. Updated on 4 Jun 2019: Sorry they aren't the best, these are right before sugery Updated on 4 Jun 2019: Right after surgery I felt burning but nothing unbearable. As I got home, I took 1 Norco and a nap and had virtually no pain at all. I think it's from getting the exparel injections. When I woke up this am, I felt like I worked out really hard. It feels similar to the ache when you pull a muscle, I'm assuming that's just from the swelling. Sleeping sitting up wasn't bad at all, the trick is having pillows under your knees and arms. I did wake up with a phlemy couch, the nurse called earlier and said the intubation most likely aggravated my asthma. So far so good. Im all bandaged up so I can't see anything but I feel really small lol Updated on 5 Jun 2019: So far only needed very few pain meds, mostly for the swelling. Saw Dr Pollack today and everything looks great. I still have to keep my drains in until Friday as I'm getting a lot out. I think the most uncomfortable part is the swelling so high up on my chest. He sewed the breast tissue higher up so when I get implants, I will have the upper pole firmness. My nipples didn't lose sensitivity at all or turn black. My swelling is all overy body and abdomen where I had lipo from the first surgery. Ice and Norco were my best friends today. Itching has been real. I feel burning every now and then but mostly I'm just sore. So far nothing like my first surgery at all! Updated on 5 Jun 2019: Updated on 7 Jun 2019: Today I got my drains removed!!! I was beginning to get really miserable with them and felt like I couldn't move. Yesterday I had to call the office because my temp stayed at 99.8 and I broke out in hives all over my chest are arms. Kate called back and said switch to Tylenol PM and use benedryl as it may be from the Norco. Doing that helped a lot! I did however take a Norco this am before my appt because I was scared out of my mind about the drains being pulled. Sweaty palms scared. Louisa was very gentle and took the stitches out. She said take a deep breath on the count of three, exhale, and then it was done!! I did not feel anything other than burning at the hole they were in. Getting the IV before surgery hurt wayyyy worse! She did the other side and I instantly felt so much better. My posture was more relaxed and I didn't feel so tight. I'm excited about getting to shower tomorrow. And OMG the drains were huge! No wonder I was so sore! So far no regrets on this surgery at all. Updated on 13 Jun 2019: I had my one week post op at 9 days. Dr said everything looked great. The one flat side is rounding out and starting to drop nicely. Dr said I could remove tape this weekend but opted to wait until next week when stitches come out. I am starting to get fresh stretch marks but that's ok...I kinda expected to get them as it's one of the only places I get them, even during pregnancy. I still haven't been able to wash well as you're only alowed to let the water trickle down with your back to the shower head. Pics aren't really pretty because of it. Also, I feel.like I have a spitting stich on my right side. I cleaned the area with alcohol wipes and used the antibacterial soap they give you. It doesn't look infected so I haven't said anything to Dr Pollack yet. I think it'll be fine until next week... I don't know what's going on with the pics I upload, they look fine when I upload them but after I post they seem to recrop themselves!! Updated on 26 Jun 2019: Sorry it's late! Got my tape and stitches removed! Everything is dropping nicely. Starting to get stretch marks on the sides but everythinlooks beautiful! I'm so happy!! I took the tape of the nipples myself, he said I could if I wanted, just to see if it would help right side. Pain is minimal but still swelling. I go back in three weeks. Updated on 26 Jun 2019: Settling nicely! My scars are absolutely beautiful in most areas and will barely be noticed. Some parts are still swollen and pursed looking but I'm hoping for it to go down. I bought silicone tape to use, although they suggested bio oil. The bio oil.works great on getting residue stickyness from tape. I did put fusing tap on the scars when after the first day I noticed a few places splitting. I took it off three days later. I've been getting stretch marks heavily on the sides even with bio oil and Coco butter twice a day...i wake up itching! I get random burning /shocking pains and I'm pretty sure my nipples.are chaffed because of how sensitive they are... I'm having second thoughts on.getting implants because of how my skin is stretching. But I still lack projection...hopefully fluffying will help. My left side is softening beautifully but my right is still firm up.top as if it needs to.drop some. I did try an old bikini top on and my scars were only visible in the cleavage...where some of the swelling/pursing is...but it wasn't bad at all! Measuring 34DD with the bikini top with maybe a quarter inch between the cup and my nipple because of how round I am. Still sleeping on my back which I'm getting used to. I've woken up on my side twice but try to put pillows on my sides. So far healing well and loving my new boobies! So excited to go bikini/bra shopping Updated on 26 Jun 2019: These didn't update!! Sorry for bad lighting!
I just finished 3 facial peels with Marci Pastel, licensed aesthetician at Del Mar Plastic Surgery. The peels were done 30 days apart and I can't say how amazing my skin looks and feels! I had a photo taken recently with my cousin who is 20 years younger than I am. Our skin looks exactly the same! I was floored and so very happy! Marci is incredible. She initially spent a lot of time examining my skin, asking questions about my goals, and then chose the peel she felt would do the best for me. She's changed each peel based on how effective the last peel was. She also took the time to discuss medical grade products when I asked. Yes, when I asked! She does not push any products on you. It's really nice to know that there's someone that takes the time to work with you on your wants and needs. I've already purchased another series of peels since I'm dedicated to keeping my skin in the shape it is now. I only wish I did this 20 years ago! Don't hesitate to contact her for a consultation. You'll be pleased you did. I can't say enough great things about Marci. Del Mar Plastic Surgery is the best!
Lost 150 pounds. @ age 60 too much loose skin, especially under chin, (big flap) a nd huge flaps under both upper arms. WOW! So inspired now, I am working out with weights building arms up, very motivated with the new me. Makes me want more! (More good health, more desire to stick with my program)! Updated on 16 Oct 2015: My after pictures are very soon after surgery. I'm still swollen and sore (numb), but this gives you an idea. Updated on 21 Oct 2015: It's the little things that you don't think of until you experience the moment. When I was -350+ I couldn't do a simple thing like file my toe nails. When I did loose the weight, I really appreciated being able to do those little things. As time passed, those chores became routine, but I was really annoyed with file motion, back and forth, back and forth, quick short motion, the skin on my arms would just flap back and forth, so very annoying! Well, I just filed my nails and after surgery from Dr Larry and me working the muscles, there was no wiggle! No flapping! Now I can where short sleeve shirts again! It's only been since Aug 14, and I feel like my arms are like 30 years younger. :) Can't put a price on that. So if your worried about the cost, when it's over and done, instead of driving that new car I thought I'd be driving, I'm Downgrading to a scooter, and paying the money to MYSELF! Ha ha Updated on 17 Nov 2015: Just saw Dr Pollack today. Everything going great. Such a great support team. Makes me worry for people going abroad for their procedures. You need to have access to your surgeon. Very important as the healing takes months. Please consider these things when making your decision. My main goal was to form a relationship with my Dr. and staff. Here's some more pictures. My next surgery is end of January. Updated on 25 Feb 2016: Hi folks! It is now end of Feb. After my surgery in August I healed and then 5 months after that on January 28, I had two more procedures done. Now I have some pictures for you. Again, I'm 60 years old, carrying 150lbs extra most of my life. I peaked at 360. I'm only 5'10. The chart says I should weigh 175. I carry 200well because of my chest and shoulders. I loaded airplanes all my life, and have always been pretty strong. When I turned. I smoked all my life, and was on all kinds of meds. Heart pills, blood thinners, sleep apnea, copd, oxygen, the list goes on and on. So now, five years later, after a very long and determined path, I have lost 150 lbs, 5years of not smoking, I am proud to say, I take only one pill every day. 40mg of fluoxetine, and that's because these surgeries prevent me from exercises that normally work for my depression. Anyway, my first procedure was face -(neck) and arm.. this surgery was for belly now. I feel like I had abs, but so much skin, makes the victory of losing the weight a little bittersweet. Here are some before pictures of my belly. The after pictures will also get here.
I am 51 and a yoga teacher with two teens. After considering this procedure on and off since 2005, and after interviewing group exercise instructors/friends, i finally did receive silicon implants today! The team at Dr. Pollack's office is exceptional, including Dr.Pollack. Had surgery 7:30am. Home at 11:30am, slept mostly but rewatched The Bucket List at :3:000pm. Sleep, Graham teddy bear cracked and pain pills are my best friends right now. Helps with getting over the invincible "elephant" feeling of sitting on my chest. No nausea yet so maybe I escaped that, fortunately. I look down at my chest and something looks bigger! Can hardly wait to see for real in few days. Will try to post pics because the other women who shared theirs on this site were incredibly helpful and I want to share back!. Please give me a few days to do that... ;-) Updated on 7 May 2013: Days after surgery: Day 1- sore and taking pain meds every four hours as advised. Fiance helps me stand by leveraging his hand on my back to get out of bed - use core muscles to rise, I tell myself! TG no nausea at all but pain meds require something in my tummy so eating graham crackers. Haven't done that since kids were tiny and it made me smile ;-). Using a straw to drink was very helpful. I recommend having these on hand! Mostly slept on and off every 3-4 hours... probably due to pain meds. Read a book and watched movie. Everthing was just fine if i didnt do too much. I was able in AM to eat w family in regular arm chair. In PM i actuallt defrosted some premade meals and carefully stuck them in oven. That actually pushed me over the edge a bit because ii also extended my pain pills to once every 8 hours. By 11:00 pm i was in excruciating pain and my fiance fed me the pill which calmed it down immediately. This site and its many patient blogs helped me be ready: I had my two ice packs in use, homemade soup made, yogurt, and sennekot for better BM, I had bought a Chinese back scratcher (important for the shower and washing my long hair). I used just about everything during the last three days. Day 3- Better but worse. More soreness and able to sit with family for longer periods but feeling the hurt. Ice packs in use constantly and pain meds def. a life saver, but end of day, was fine one pill every 7-8 hours. I was getting ready to return to work so knowing I can't be on pain meds and drive a car was the motivation to try to decrease usage. Day 4: Post Op visit: FIRST glimpse at the new kids!!" OMG doc held a mirror up and I could not help myself-unbiasedly I said out loud " how beautiful these are". Extremely pleased! Went out for quick lunch w fiance and came home for movie in bed. Took first shower SO GOOD to do that and feel warm rain cleansing my body, my hair. Doc said as long as I don't face the shower and spray directly onto the new kids, I can stay in as long as needed. Must have used all our hot water up ;-) More later... Updated on 7 May 2013: Day 5 - Return to. Sales Representative Desk I used to teach yoga full time but it never would make enough to save for kids college funds and pay for life's little necessities like my monthly facial. Now I teach part time and have a corporate career during the week. I was originally groomed for working hi technology where I spent 20 years in sales and engineering. So I went back and now am purely in sales but fortunately don't travel. Today went by with nobody gaping, noticing any difference due to my oversized pin striped shirt. Started to have that itching sensation on and off that the other ladies have all shared about. But its not anything ongoing just sporadic. My desk chair has arm rests so my day went by pain free. Doc told me yesterday to keep improving range of motion and reach without resistance above my head and either side "stretch your arms out like a bird flying"....so I practiced that during day. I don't feel that hurts recovery time but that it helps it. Two days ago I would have called it nuts to try it. Now it feels safe to try. Moral - your body will intuitively know its safe to go try new physical activity. I tried posting pics but didn't work. Will try tomorrow so you can see , with stats. Updated on 8 May 2013: Comments about the photos/day of surgery: Doc and I decided to change up the size of the implants at the last minut. At Pre-Op , I had 3 inch heels on and looked about 5'8" and we were tossing around 350-375 CC for my 36B chest. We reviewed the moderate and moderate plus profiles as the most likely candidates. But he cautioned me that we might make some last minute adjustments in the OR or on surgery day. On the day of surgery, I stood in my bare feet and he walks in saying " you are a lot shorter than I thought!" I have an athletic build and he and I agree we desired a very natural look, one that didn't broadcast my size, but made people wonder "what is different about her...." So he changed it up (knowing I was favoring smaller rather than larger to fit me better) - and suggested 300-350 CC, what did I thiink of that, he asks? In the OR, he tried the moderate profile implants and they created a strange look - a divot appeared, and he decided to exchange them for low profile implants - much better! He was also surprised, he later shared, at the size difference I needed. 300 on the Left and 340 on the right. But everything looks even and beautifully proportioned now. Updated on 8 May 2013: Day 6 - Almost feel back to normal and I thinking, the human body is a miraculous machine. My arm pits, chest and pectorals don't recoil or tense up if I'm carrying groceries. The areas are healing up and don't need that reflex of auto protection. I think back to what Doc said... Push your chest out... Show off those babies..to make me resist slouching and maintain good posture.. Haha showing off , I think to myself.. I never ever thought in my life I would be able to do that (big smile ;;-) This begins a new chapter in shopping and wardrobe. Maybe schedule that for next week.... Updated on 14 May 2013: Ten day post op was supposed to be today but Doc had to reschedule. Nurse says I can exercise as long as I am not bouncing at all. Still need to wear bandeau across top of breasts to ensure bottom pocket is100% formed. . ok i can live with that for a few more days.... Wore only a sports bra underneath today and very comfy. Walmart has a whole assortment and not very expensive. Today was firs day i pushed off my left arm to get up and felt zero pain. That's a good sign i think. More after I see the Doc again. Updated on 15 May 2013: Day 13 - First visit to the gym Two pleasant surprises today. Went to put on a previously baggy yoga top and now it fits perfectly. I was actually surprised it would fit at all. But this shows me my overall rating implant size i elected was not gignormous but maybe just right for my personal taste and body image as a fitness teacher. I spent 30 minutes doing an endurance workout on the spin bike and stayed seated to avoid bouncing the "kids". Kept arms down by my sides or stretched them above my head or behind my back with fingers laced. avoided leaning on handle bars. Nurse said "do what feels right with your body and if it hurts, then stop"... Happy to report I felt good and worked at medium intensity today. Updated on 15 May 2013: The second surprise was that the implants for the most part are not rock hard but springy like a freshly baked cake surface . Nurse says they should soften even more as they settle into bottom of the pockets formed during surgery. Updated on 18 May 2013: Day 16 - Swelling Gone and I'm beautiful but not a full cup size larger. Me: (retrying on 34 C V Secret padded bra that I had worn and looking in mirror). Hmmmmmmm... Still fits but barely....(silently.. Where's my "c" cup increase?) He; what's the matter.... (Looking) Me: It still fits....(unsure) He: Isn't that what you said you wanted.... To look natural... So nobody could tell it was obvious?... Me: Yes (trying to find right words)....a balance between enhancement and publicity......I didn't want publicity but I wanted to be a "C"....(will get measured today to see) He: (Pause) it doesn't matter...(but clearly on his face I can see it does) Me: My biggest disappointment is not with the results. Its that you are disappointed (with size increase). He: It's no matter... As long as you're happy ..(but he wishes differently). You let what you wanted be overruled by what other people might think about you....you said you wanted to be a "C" Me: (silently.. Did I??? I did....) I'm happy with them and thank you for giving me my gift (surgery) How many of you have had this discussion? How many have gone larger and wished for smaller... And Vice Versa? I'm still happy but sorting through body image issues.... Updated on 20 May 2013: My 16 year old daughter and I go bra shopping. She's good to show acceptance of my decision to get enhancements. Yes I didn't really a big change like going up two sizes... Or did I? The gal measures me to be 36 D and I try both "C" and "D" bio fit bras on(very little padding) with no under wire. The "C" rides off my chest by 1/4 inch and the "D" lays completely flat and smooth (eg comfy). So she writes "36D" as my measurement on the card. My daughter is also trying on C and D sizes. We both conclude V Secret is purposefully making bras smaller and labeling them to be larger so one thinks one is larger: I don't look like a "D" I look like a "C". I buy her two bras and decide to wait another week in case more swelling goes down but I'm convinced I'm already at my end result size. And I decided that what my fiance was envisioning were big publicity implants and all along I wanted just to enhance what I had been God given. In the end what I received - is exactly that and I'm heavenly happy with how that integrates with my body image and personality. Don't ever let anyone's opinion dictate what is best for you!
DO NOT LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN AMAZING PLASTIC SURGEON!!!!!! I am a 46 year old woman who felt that my appearance was not really supporting the youthfullness that I had inside. I knew that I definatley wanted to get some work done and was really looking for some expert advice. I was very nervous and really didn't know what to expect. I had a facelift, fraxel laser treatment and a tummy tuck done and I am so happy with the results. I was on a very tight schedule due to a vacation that I had planned and Kate and the office staff were so flexible and mapped out a very strategic plan to ensure I had time to recover before I put on my bikini top for my cruise.. YEAH! They have an AMAZING esthetician named Marci who worked with me on preperation for my fraxel laser treatment. She gave me such great advice for skin care. I was so impressed that I brought my 20 year old daughter who was struggling with her skin tone after her acutane treatment. She is getting some great results from her sessions with Marci.
You should not have any issues taking your allergy medication. Always check with your treating physician when you have questions about your medications. Enjoy your results!
Thank you for this question. It is very common for one side to need treatment. Depending on the length of time you have had your implant (as well as other factors), your surgeon will determine the best treatment plan. Sometimes one side can be treated, other times both need to be addressed. I advise an in-person exam and consultation to discuss your options.
Hello, I am sorry to hear you are experiencing pain. It would be advisable for you to make an appointment with your surgeon (or another board certified plastic surgeon) to do an exam. There are a number of things that could cause pain. Since you have had your implants for 18 years, it may be time for you to exchange them. Good luck!
Hello,It is always best to do an in person evaluation to determine the best treatment plan. Looking at your photos, I don't know that a mini tummy tuck would work well for you. Very few patients are good candidates for a mini which only addresses the skin and muscle below the navel. There is a very good chance you need muscle tightening of the entire abdomen. Perhaps seek a second opinion by a plastic surgeon who specializes in this area.
Hello, Thank you for the question. It is common to have swelling at 3 weeks post-op as well as asymmetrical swelling. Sleeping on your side could potentially cause one side to swell more, so you should ensure you are still sleeping elevated and on your back. This may help.
