Has Juvederm injected into my cheek area caused this blockage in my sinus - via filler entering my blood vessels?

I had Juvederm injected in my cheeks (2 syringes). After, my ears started presenting with a slight infection, aching gums/teeth & pain in front of my ears. 6 months later I am experiencing sinus issues which have made my frontal sinus swell out. The doctor told me it appears I have a blockage in my sinus canal from my nose up to my ears. I read this - " FDA Warns of Complications From Facial Fillers when injections accidentally enter blood vessels, blockages and damage can occur". Is this true?

This is difficult to answer without an in-person evaluation. Side effects from fillers are rare and it is unlikely your filler treatment is causing your sinus issues. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Most often, the HA fillers such as juvederm, dissolve over about 6-9 months and that there is no long lasting effects.  It is my experience, however, that sometimes filler injections in the vermilion border subtly alter the border sometimes and that it may never be completely "virgin"again. After 2 years, I would expect the juvederm to be dissolved. It may be best to see a Board Certified Dermatologist in your area that is an expert in lip fillers to see if there is something that can be done to correct your issue.
