When will my Juvederm completely dissolve? It looks overdone and I also have some lumps.

Hello and thank you for question. Its tough to tell without photographs, but its so easy to partially reverse filler with hyaluronidase, there is no reason for you to walk around looking overdone. An experienced injector can just place the enzyme into the specific areas that look overdone and decrease those without dissolving the whole injection. Hope this helps.

The Juvederm family of fillers contain several. Juvederm Ultra and Ultraplus may take a year and a half to go away and Vouma more than two years. If you don't want to have the Juvederm dissolved with hyaluronidase, the results will gradually dissolve within 12 months. I hope that helps.

It depends on which of the five types of juvederm were used.ultra and ultra plus last up to one year volbella one year vollure 18 months and voluma up to two years

I'm sorry to hear you're unhappy with your results. You can either wait to have the hyaluronic acid to dissolve over time or check your options with hyaluronidase, a product known to dissolve this material. Best of luck, Dr. Berger. 

I'm sorry that you are unhappy with your Juvederm results.  The effects of the product will gradually minimize over the next year.  The lumps may be improved with massage.  If you want it dissolved, it can be done in the office with hyaluronidase.  I recommend returning to your injector for an evaluation.

Thanks for your question. Firstly, if you have lumps, visit the physician who injected you so they can be massaged. Secondly, if you don't want to have the enzyme injection to dissolve the filler product then you will probably have to wait 9-12 months before your system metabolizes the product. I recommend seeing your doctor for a follow-up to address the lumps and to discuss the hyaluronidase. Typically Juvederm ultra and ultra plus last up to one year.  When you add to what you have already in the area that has not gone away it seems to last longer although this is antidotal in my experience.  If it is really bothering you I would have it dissolved.  You can have a small amount dissolved at a time.   I would talk to your provider and discuss the risks and benefits of dissolving the filler, esp. if the lumps are visible.

I would consult an expert in Juvederm and have the product dissolved slowly for the best cosmetic result.  Sometimes just dissolving a small portion of the product is all that you need.  Best, Dr. Green
