I’m a 30/f, about 5’3” tall and 120 lbs. i want to get a bbl this year and im concerned about the amount of fat available for transfer. I think it might need to be taken from several places on my body. question is, should I start trying to build muscle now, or will that cause fat cells to die and result in decreased amount for transfer? Is there any relation between exercise prior to bbl? What would be the correct order if I want fat transfer but also want to get fit?
Answer: Pictures are mandatory for an evaluation Thank you for your question. To provide a valid medical opinion I will need to see pictures of you body from different angles. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results. Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: 30/f, 5’3” tall & 120lbs - should I workout prior to a BBL? Hello @Michelle Vasquez, thank you for your question. It is important to take into account the indications of the specialist with whom the surgery will be performed. In my opinion, exercise helps to maintain an adequate metabolism to perform surgery. With proper surgical technique, it does not affect the procedure. Below is a video that sheds more light on the subject. For more information and recommendations, it is best to consult with one or several board certified plastic surgeons. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS. Answer: Considerations on exercise and BBL It is difficult to give a precise recommendation without photographs and knowing your desired goals. I generally would recommend being at your ideal fitness level and weight prior to proceeding with surgery. Depending on how much gluteal muscle you add, the buttock shape may change if you are planning to gain a significant amount of muscle. Exercise will not kill the fat cells whether performed before surgery or after everything has healed. However, significant weight loss will cause the fat cells to shrink. If it is before your surgery, your surgeon may have to take fat from several places and/or you may not have enough fat to achieve your desired buttock size and shape. If it occurs afterwards, there could be loss of buttock volume, making the buttocks smaller than you want. I would recommend seeing a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in Brazilian butt lift for a consultation.
