Can I get a BBL with a history of a superficial blood clot?

Hi, thank you for sharing your question. It is presumed that your clot developed from the fracture and immobilization. If a hematologist has cleared you from having an underlying condition that causes clotting problems, you can safely proceed with surgery with proper precautions.

Thank you for your question; I recommend to talked with your plastic surgeon about this concern . Most likely you will require clearance for surgery from an hematologists or angiologist; having this consultations you will have an accurate evaluation about this condition and if will require special treatment effect your procedure. This was you and your plastic surgeon will be safer during the surgery.

every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. You might need clearance from your doctor. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

Hi and thanks for the question. It is not uncommon to get a superficial blood clot related to the injury that you had. The way that I would approach this is to have you evaluated by a hematologist to make sure that you do not have an issue with abnormal blood clotting and as long as that doctor clears you can proceed with the BBL.

You should still be able to get cleared for elective surgery. Your surgeon will likely give you a blood thinner shot prior to going to sleep. This surgery should be done in a hospital to maximize safety.

Each plastic surgeon will make their own decisions based on your medical history. Superficial blood clots sometimes called thrombophlebitis is not necessarily related to any risk of having deep vein blood clots(DVT). Still, some plastic surgeons may be apprehensive and others may feel totally comfortable.
You also need to get an assessment in regards to your candidacy for the procedure and begin vetting plastic surgeons to choose and appropriately skilled and experience provider.
Do that by having multiple in person consultations. During each consultation ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures.
Being shown a handful of sample pictures that most likely represent the best results of the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like.
Instead ask providers to show as many pictures as they have of patients with similar body characteristics to your own.
An experience provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures of commonly performed procedures like abdominal liposuction or the BBL procedure.
A proper consultation will also review your medical history at which time you can talk about your blood clot and see if the surgeon needs to do any tests or get clearance.
Choosing the right provider in the end is the most important decision and results of the BBL procedure vary wildly based on who does the surgery.
Results from these procedures are permanent and irreversible. If done poorly it is almost impossible to restore a normal body contour.
