Would a neck lift be right for me? (Photo)

Question

Hi 45 years old and considering a neck lift. Would this procedure help me? Concerns are looseness of skin and sagging, vertical bands.

Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. With a deep plane neck lift intervention, you can expect to see some changes in the contour of the jawline. Although the effect is less dramatic than from a facelift, it complements the contours of the neck.

I can see that there is a tendency to develop platysma bands, which are muscle-related rather than due to laxity. These would be addressed by the neck lift intervention. In general, the maintenance of the results is significantly influenced by the elasticity of the skin. Daily use of sunblock on the face and neck is an important part of ensuring the longevity of the result.

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

You are a great candidate for neck lift surgery. Regarding your concern, after your surgery ageing process still continues. Therefore, wrinkles and sagging will reoccur slowly in time. We expect necklift results to last around 7-10 years

Yes, a well planned and performed neck lift would restore youthful appearing neck and lower facial features.  Because your loose skin and bands are not severe, your result would not be a dramatic change, but your result should last many years and will essentially prevent aging changes from developing for the next twenty five years.

From the photos it appears you would be a good candidate for a lower neck lift.  Depending on your goals you could consider less invasive treatments such as Botox for the platysmal bands and FaceTite to improve the overall tone and texture of the neck and lower face.
