My right nipple seems like it is has an indention in it. What do you think? (photo)

What could this be? What is going on? There is kind of a hard spot that I can feel behind the nipple. I'm not sure what it is. I've had silicone implants for at least a year and a half now. I've just recently noticed this. Please help.

Thank you for your question and photos.  From the photos alone, it is not possible to determine what is going on. Any time there is something new or a change to your breasts, you should see your surgeon.  I would start with your plastic surgeon but he or she may refer you to another specialist if there is concern.

If you have a new hard lump a year and a half after breast augmentation you absolutely need an in person evaluation by a plastic surgeon or breast surgeon to make sure everything is okay.  I would not delay in this.  Best wishes.

This is an excellent result in terms of size, shape, and symmetry. I can see some flattening at the top of the right nipple. If with stimulation it fills out like the left side, then it may simply be a change in muscular tone.  The hardness agreeably, could be due to a cyst or blocked duct.  Any changes in nipple consistency, retraction, indentation, and or drainage should be reported to your doctor.

There are a number of things that can cause a shape change in the nipple and the breast after BAM, or in the  non operated breast.  I think a timely evaluation by your doctor is in order.

It is difficult to say from the photos if you have an indentation, but if you feel a lump, then you should be evaluated ASAP.

You have scar tether from the peri-areolar incision.  This is common after this approach.  Correction can be tricky since the ductal tissue below tends to re-scar with more tethering.  This can usually be improved with not too much risk.  My approach would be to continue the scar all the way around the areola to provide even tension and smoother contours.Be sure to see a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and be sure to see a comprehensive portfolio of pre- and post-op pictures so you can gauge the surgeon's expertise and the types of results that are reasonable to expect.
