What are the risk factors of a 500 cc implant on a smaller frame? (photo)

Question

I am getting 450 cc high profile round gel implants under the muscle inframammary incision. My height is 5'2 and three quarters so I am almost 5'3. Weight 120 pounds. Each breast is 12 inches across. When trying on for size, it may be that the doctor gave me teardrop implants so there wasn't as much fullness on the top as I would have liked so I am tempted to go slightly bigger. I still have to confirm with the office if they did, in fact, give me the wrong shape to try on.

Choosing the correct implant size is a combination of examination by a board-certified plastic surgeon and your goals and expectations.  This can be nearly impossible to do accurately just by looking at your photos.  The key to all of this is for you to clearly understand and have a good outcome so that you're happy.  For me this requires more than one visit to the office and clear cut expectations and understanding between me and my patients.

Some studies have indicated that implants in the 350-400 cc range have fewer complications such as extrusion, loss of implant, capsular contraction, healing difficulties, then do implants and the 500-600 cc range.  Please discuss this clearly and thoroughly with your plastic surgeon for an appropriate answer to this question.
