Unfortunately, insurance does not cover a tummy tuck. Occasionally with documentation of recurrent infection they will pay for a panniculectomy (simply removing loose skin).#tt#tummytuck
Thank you for your question and photograph.I do agree that a panniculectomy wouldimprove the appearance of your abdomen and also add a functional change whichwould improve your activities of daily living. That being said, the particular requirements of each insurance policydiffers by the plan, state, and company.Best to check in with your insurance company with regards to theirspecific requirements.I wish you thebest of luck.
No. Tummy tuck surgery is cosmetic, and is not covered by insurance. Expect to pay about $8000.
Hello, tummy tuck surgery is not usually an insured operation. You could always check with your local provider but I suspect that this will be considered an elective procedure.
Thank you for your question, and I am sorry that your stomach is causing you lower back pain and difficulty breathing. I would recommend your see your family doctor for a full abdominal examination. It would be important to rule out a hernia that may be causing your symptoms before considering plastic surgery to remove your belly. Based on what the cause of your symptoms is, your insurance company may pay to have it fixed, but it would be best to first obtain a diagnosis and then move on from there.
For certain indications, insurance will occasionally pay for a part of a tummy tuck, but never the entire procedure as part of it is consider to be cosmetic regardless of symptoms. However, back pain is not an indication for insurance to get involved and neither is trouble breathing at night. In fact, a tummy tuck could potentially make both of these problems worse and you should definitely be evaluated by your primary care doc for the troubles breathing. If anything, the troubles breathing would make you a risky surgical candidate even if your insurance wasn't paying for the procedure. Best of luck!
Hello. A belly reduction or panniculectomy would certainly help you with some of your ailments but you'll need to consult with a BCPS and your PCP to create a plan. Check with your iinsurance provider to see if they will cover this procedure. Dr. B
You will need to lose some significant weight before considering any tummy tuck/belly reduction procedure. With that weight loss you will likely develop a greater overlying abdominal pannus which could potentially qualify for an abdominal panniculectomy procedure. But that can only eventually be determined through an insurance predetermination process. But you must lose a lot of weight first.
Thank you for your question and photograph. From your picture it would appear as though weight reduction, if possible, would be needed before any surgical procedure would be contemplated. Most surgeons would prefer a patient to be of a BMI of 30 or less. This will help minimize your risks (wound infection, non-healing, DVT, etc.) while maximizing your outcome. While you may potentially qualify for a panniculectomy, a tummy tuck is considered a cosmetic procedure and therefore not typically covered by insurance. I would also state that a tummy tuck is NOT a weight loss procedure. I hope this helps. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question. By your description of symptoms and photo attached it is very unlikely that HIP Plus will pay for any reduction of the abdominal area. It looks and sound like you need a more healthful approach to weight loss that will reduce the fatty inside and outside the body. I would be happy to discuss with you since you are only an hour away from Fort Wayne.
Diets don't work in the long run! Our food is stripped of nutrition and that is why we have to consume more calories to get the same base nutrients we once did. The key is to feed the body these nutrients in a form with fewer calories. I have employed a natural plant-based system in which I...
Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. I suggest you to visit your plastic surgeon and follow his advices. Also i recommend you to go to an internist to be evaluated in other aspects.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Thank you for your question. If your Gyn has followed your cyst and does not recommend removal, it should be safe to proceed with the tummy tuck. I always get this confirmation with a letter or phone call to ensure that it is safe to proceed. Best wishes,Dr. Eagan
