Thanks for the question. After 4-6 weeks your operation area is totally healed and yes you can play tennis and also do other sport activities. I wish you all the best.
Recovery time from a #facelift varies from person to person, but patients can generally expect to be presentable within three weeks from surgery. Patients should expect #swelling, #bruising, and #discoloration of the skin during this phase of recovery (swelling normally goes down after 48 hours; most bruising will go away within two weeks). The marks from a facelift are noticeable at first, but are easily hidden with a bit of “camouflage” make-up which our staff teaches our patients how to use. The #scars from a facelift mature within six to twelve months from the surgery date. It is during this time that the rejuvenating effects of the facelift will become apparent and the real result will be seen. Most patients who have had Lite Lifts™ feel reasonably normal within 2-4 days after surgery even though they are swollen. If you wish to do light office work, you may. Do not, however, do any heavy activities or aerobic #exercise for at least 3 weeks after surgery! Strenuous #activities can cause bleeding and swelling for a longer period than is necessary.
I usually tell my patients to wait at least 4 weeks after surgery before resuming workouts and active sports. The numbness will slowly subside with time - but it can take 10-12 months to fully resolve.Good luck with your recovery.
activity limitations after a facelift range from 4-6 weeks. At first you don't want to be raising your blood pressure to avoid any possible bleeding. Later, you want to avoid any sudden movements or impact/injury to the face that would disrupt the healing. Although you should be OK after about 2 weeks, I recommend no sports for 4-6 weeks just to be safe. You spent all this money on the new you, don't throw it away because of a tennis game.
Resumption of activities after a facelift is tailored to the patient and the operation but in my practice by four weeks most patients are back to full athletic activity.
I let patients resume physical activity on an individual basis and tell them to ease into it slowly and don't do anything that hurts. Tennis players can usually ease into some light hitting, preferably not in the middle of the day, at about three weeks. Remember to wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. You may notice resuming activity temporarily increases swelling but the swelling will subside and will serve as your guide regarding how much activity you should you. The numbness varies from patient to patient. It should start returning after a few weeks, but can take up to six months to come back completely.
Every surgeon has their own ideas re: exercise after facelift and you have to follow your surgeon's guidelines. I am more willing to allow exercise earlier and I have some patients playing golf and tennis 4 weeks post-op but not everyone is ready then. I allow cardio (treadmill or exercycle) at 10 days and resistance training at 3 weeks. As far as numbness is concerned that is very individual and can last many months but is a nuisance and not a real problem.
There may be some variation in how long after a facelift that someone could play tennis. The specifics of the surgery as well as the surgeon could influence the answer. I would say that as a rough answer, it would be somewhere around 2 months. It could be sooner or later, depending on your specific treatment and it is always best to check with your particular surgeon. Numbness can take weeks to months to resolve completely.
Everybody heals at his or her own unique pace. In my practice, I typically recommend at least four weeks before undertaking more strenuous hobbies like tennis. It is very important to be compliant with your surgeon's post-operative recommendations in order to put yourself in the best position to heal.
Thanks for your question. Most sutures are removed within 5-7 days after surgery. Patients are typically able to return to work in 2 weeks and resume exercise and other strenuous activities in about 6 weeks. Best Regards, Dr. Mentz
Thanks for the question. Yes for sure. Generally, most patients can fly within 24 to 48 hours after facelift surgery. I wish you all the best
Slimming a round face is a very common request from patients. There are several different options to slim the face depending on what type of results you are looking for, including non-surgical and minor procedures. Many times, weight loss does not account for a slimmer face. ...
The asymmetry you mention is not noticeable to me and I would advise against any surgery to try to correct it. The same goes for the lips. Everyone has some degree of facial asymmetry. Yours is minimal and not worth having surgery for it.
