Is 100 units of Xeomin injected in one session safe?

I have many times injected more than this for facial wrinkles in multiple areas without any problems.  If this was injected into a solo area, it still will be safe, but will likely give you way too much paralysis and look funny.  I suggest you speak to your physician if you are concerned.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA, also called botulinum
toxin type A), is made from the bacteria that causes botulism. Botulinum toxin
blocks nerve activity in the muscles, causing a temporary reduction in muscle
activity. It's safe, but you will not see better results just because you apply more dose. I recommend 50 units it's enough for a great result.

The dose of XEOMIN® is up to the doctor's descretion.  Personally,  I have never found a need to use 100 units in one setting for a patient.

Thank you for the question. It would be very difficult to inject a dangerous dose of Xeomin. It seems like a lot for one spot. I think there must be some confusion. You should discuss your concerns with the injecting physician, but need to worry about systemic side effects.

100 Units of Xeomin is a safe dose.It is somewhat more concerning that you do not have confidence in your injector.  I strongly encourage you to undergo injection by someone who is extremely knowledgeable and whom you trust.  It is not healthy to be second-guessing your injector.

I recommend getting treatments at an office similar to mine where a physician-injector administers your injections. Our anatomical knowledge is a huge benefit to maximizing your results. I start my patients off slowly to preserve a more natural look, they see results after one treatment. I have my patients come back 10 days after their injection to see if any touch up is needed.

100 units of Xeomin is comparable to 100 units of Botox.  It is interesting and reassuring to know that children getting large orthopedic surgeries, like rods in their back, or for spasticity issues, get several hundred units of botox in a single day without any dangers of overdosing.Also, I have several hyperhidrosis patients who receive 200-300 units at a time.  Still not a safety issue.

The amount used is not necessarily unsafe, but it does seem to be a lot for what you may be trying to accomplish. It seems like you can do quite a bit with less. Again this may be due to the fact that you did not respond well to the Botox and so therefore it may take more. I would not worry about the safety.Good luck!

100 units of Xeomin is a rather high dose. That doesn't mean it's dangerous, I just think you can get a nice result with less product. It's possible your physician may have used Dysport, which is dosed somewhat differently from Xeomin. 100 units of Dysport would make more sense. Be well, Dr. M
