Dr. Mallalieu was extremely attentive, thorough, and down to earth. He always makes every visit comfortable and friendly and I would go to anyone else. I have been seeing him for many years for laser mole removal, tattoo, and hair removal, and have always had a great outcome
I have to say i have been getting work done since i was 18 yrs old, I am 34 now and i have found my cosmetic laser family. They have treated me so well... If you are like me you may have noticed most plastic surgeons act like they care, get your money and don't care if you like your results... This is not the case here Dr. Mallalieu was cool from day 1 i brought him a slight mess. His bedside manner will blow your mind he walk me to my car and help get me in followed by a phone call from him 4 hrs later. That blew me away.... So on to the support system in the office that has Dr. M able to be so great Rebecca is the coordinator she is very hands on and NEVER made me feel like she was above me.. I have dealt with that in my past experience. So if you want to be treated great and get great work go... Now! The RN's on duty are absolutely fantastic and very attentive... Nina at the front is super chill and helpful. Did i mention this place does everything lasers, hormone therapy, plastic surgery, skin care and fillers. I am sure a plethora of other stuff they have anything you could want in one place. I got a allura lipo 360, bbl to the laterals and a mini tummy tuck. Updated on 5 Oct 2020: Sorry it took me so long ..Photos.. I love my results I just want Lipo 360 again now after covid I gained a little weigh.. I am still loving my results with my weight gain. I am so pleased ! Also I will not ever go to another doctor. Updated on 5 Oct 2020: Sorry it took me so long ..Photos.. I went to see Dr. Mallalieu for a consultation for Liposuction . I am in pretty good shape for 39 but no matter how hard I exercise the stubborn love handles would not go away. Dr. Mallalieu is very professional and to the point. I had done my homework on him as well. I am almost a month out my skin is already so smooth I already feel amazing. I am very happy with my decision to have this procedure done I would definitely recommend this doctor amazing results.
I have had several chemical peels Botox and different type of fillers done on my skin throughout the years I recently had Botox and a peel done at this office and I must say it was one of the best experiences I have had. Dr. Mallalieu really took his time with explaining things to me that I didn't even know from past experience my skin looked amazing almost instantly I will definitely be returning to this office I travel back-and-forth from Florida and I will save my skin care needs for when I am in Maryland.
I recently had a Micro laser peel with Dr. Mallalieu he was very knowledgeable and provided me with great information. MY skin is very complex, i have fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation and he was able to meet all of my challenges. Just after 2 days my skin looks and feels extremely smooth. I didn't expect after just my first treatment to see results this fast. I am beyond happy and can't wait to schedule my next appointment for Botox. I will definitely be recommend this center to my friends. Updated on 20 Oct 2016:
Week nine of postop and I am back to working out I don't have to wear my brace anymore I realize that the swelling was the same really at this point with her without it so I just stopped wearing it. I'm pretty happy with my progress so far I do have one side that's a little more swollen than the other but they said that's common and at six months postop they can make a decision if they need to go back in to do a little bit more lipo or not.
Best care and surgeon hands down. Worth every penny. Dr. Mallalieu is very talented and good at what he does. Plus, he cares about you as a person and see that you are happy with your results. His staff cares for you and explains every step of your procedure so you are making an informed decision. Dr. Mallalieu even calls you personally to check on you after your procedure to make sure you are doing well and as expected. I would look no further and highly recommend him and his office.
My expectations for this surgery is for me to finally be able to have a flat tummy that I will not be embarrassed about any longer. I have two girls, 14 and 4, which left me with lots of stretch marks and loose, saggy skin. I have decided to get a tummy tuck and laser assisted lipo in hopes of getting the shape I haven't seen since I was a teenager. The surgery is exactly 2 weeks from today and I'm super nervous about it, but excited about my expected results. The part that makes me nervous is I'm getting it done as outpatient. Any dos or don'ts from anyone that has already undergone this procedure? Updated on 23 Sep 2015: Well the procedure is all done and the pain HURTS LIKE HELL!!! I am 12 hours post op, and just trying to get comfortable. Keep me in your prayers as I begin the most difficult part. Post pics will be posted once I get unwrapped. Updated on 28 Sep 2015: My back is KILLING ME from being hunched over so much, but I'm coming together. I eased on on my pain meds as of yesterday, so that I could make a poo.. I was sooooo constipated. As of today being day 5, I am EXTREMELY swollen, but I think my surgeon did an excellent job with the scar placement. I can see my sexy coming lol Updated on 4 Oct 2015: Still super swollen and I'm hoping it won't be for long. I am pleased with the scar placement Updated on 5 Jan 2016: Updated on 22 Mar 2016: Still hate the dark marks on my stomach, but other that those I love how I'm healing
I've considered getting a breast augmentation for about a year and I'm finally going through with it. My goal is to fill out a bikini but still look natural and not too big. I decided to go see Dr. Mallalieu at the Laser Center of Maryland because he did my friends BA which turned out beautiful and they feel pretty natural too. The doctor's office staff was very friendly and set me at ease right away when I called to book my free consultation. My consultation took about 45 minutes as Dr. Mallalieu did a brief exam (not scary like I thought it would be) and educated me on my options. Given my goals, he reccomended 265cc Allergan Natrelle Moderate Profile implants. Dr. M explained that due to my small diameter areolas I couldn't go over 265cc without inserting the implant under my breast. I don't want any scars under my breasts so I decided to go with the 265cc's through the nipple. I am preparing for surgery on Thursday and I'm nervous but very excited! Updated on 23 Feb 2018: It's been one year since my surgery. I absolutely LOVE my new boobs! Dr. Mallalieu and his whole staff were amazing throughout the process. When I had my initial consultation I was concerned that I was going too large, but now I wish I went a little bigger. Maybe when I replace my implants in a decade I will consider going with 350cc. A side note, I am prone to scarring and I did get some raised scars around the nipple where the implant was inserted. Dr. Mallalieu is addressing the scars with laser treatment and kenalog injections. I'm already seeing improvements and my next post will include pictures after these treatments are concluded.
I've always thought of myself as a no- cosmetic-surgery kind of girl but after 2 kids, 2 semi-consistent years in the gym (2-4 days/wk), healthy diet, and active lifestyle I realized I wasn't going to naturally get back to my track body. I have loose skin and DR that was 3 fingers wide now 1.5 but I'm not willing to spend hours a day in the gym for slightly better results. So, I booked my TT w/lipo (the bbl is mostly for my husband, though I could use more definition) for January 2016 with Dr. Mallalieu. He's the first and only cosmetic surgeon I had a consultation with, but he made me comfortable and said exactly what I already knew. I work on healthcare and I've done my research. I was about to go for non invasive laser lipo at another practice, but deep down I knew surgery was the only way to get the results I want. Oddly enough, I don't need a completely flat six pack, BUT, since I'm paying for the TT, it better be as flat as he can safely make it. My biggest worries are: recovery as I need to return to work in 7 days, a fake looking belly button, and complications. Has anyone on here ever returned to work in less than 2-3 weeks? I work primarily at home and at a desk. I'm only out of the house 2-5 hours a day at most and I don't lift anything other than my laptop and coffee mug. Anyway, I'm excited and a little embarrassed/ashamed that I couldn't achieve this without surgery. Wish me luck! Updated on 6 Nov 2015: So today I had a second consultation w/ the surgeon to allay my concerns. He was awesome, patient, very understanding, and didn't make me feel pathetic about coming in with a page full of questions (literally). I have ZERO worries about his skill or ability and as a result, I've freed up the space to actually get excited! I'm having TT w/MR and he is throwing in BBL as an add-on. I am planning to return to work on day 8 post op. Like most, I've research ad nauseum. I've watched a few Youtube videos, too. That, I do not recommend. I'm a pretty healthy person and truly believe in the power of good nutrition and positive thinking when it comes to healing. I broke a bone a year ago and the orthopedist was impressed at how quickly I healed and how I handled the pain. I credited prayer and boosting my Vitamin C and Omega 3s (I used flax seed oil). So I solidified my healing plan and here are the items I bought or will buy prior to my surgery and how I will use them: Disclaimer: I am not citing the sources (i know i know, I'm a grad student, my teacher would fail me on the spot), but I am not writing this for a grade. Just to share my thoughts. Everything I say is google-able. I don't claim to be a medical expert by any means. 1. Arnica Montana- I've read good things about its ability to reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation. I actually bought some Arnica oil at Marshall's (Relieve Arnica Relief Oil) for $7.99 for 4oz. It is rated 5 stars on Amazon but it was $5 more than I paid on amazon (#winning). I plan to massage and rub this in to my abdomen and back where I get lipo, or if I'm lucky, my hubby will massage me. 2. Ester C w/Probiotic supplement- so studies show that healing is increased with higher doses of vitamin C (like 1000mg/day). The body needs more C with injury or surgery to aid in the bodies healing process and defenses. It also helps the immune system (think, warding off infections). The probiotic part helps with many things: regularity of bowel movements, keeping the gut clean (which saves energy for the important stuff like healing), and prevention of yeast infection (think post-op antibiotics). I lucked up and the Kmart near me is closing so I got it for 75% off 19.99= $5!!! They expire 01/16 which is perfect timing, but I know meds are still good for a year or so after "expiration". I will start these 1 week before surgery. 3. Bromelain- is a natural enzyme that helps with inflammation, bruising, and pain. You can buy a supplement or ingest it in fresh or frozen pineapples (not canned). I am going the frozen route and using pineapple in my daily smoothies. I may get some of the enzyme from the health food store too in case the taste sickens me after a while. Like the Ester-C, I will start this a week prior to surgery. 4. Multi-vitamin- I already take one, One-a-day Women's. It's nothing special, but surely can't hurt. 5. B-Complex supp- B complex is awesome for energy and the biotin is good for hair, skin, and nails. 6. Flax seed oil- I use the Trader Joe's brand. I pour 1-2 tablespoons on my greek yogurt. It's packed with Omega 3s which are good for mood, your heart/cardiovascular, skin, and healing. As you can see, I am obsessed with healing properly. I plan to eat loads of protein post-op (eggs, greek yogurt, protein shakes, tuna, salmon) because protein is what the skin needs to build up and, you guessed it... heal. I'm going to stock up on grapefruit because, well, they're yummy, but they are also hydrating and packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants. To me, grapefruit helps me shed water/inflammation. I am borrowing my dad's walker to help me get around. He doesn't use it anymore (a leftover present after knee surgery) so at least it will get some use maybe. I don't have my children's boppy pillows anymore so I will try my travel neck pillow (for my sitting after my BBL). I mean its the same concept, no? I am renting a recliner for a few weeks and putting it in my bedroom so I can at least sleep in the same room as my hubby. I'm not a huge fan of recliners and I don't really have the space for one. I am still researching those TT abdominal boards/ foam boards and triangle board for BBLs. They aren't that expensive, but what is the point of having another thing laying around the house. I saw that you can make them? If anyone knows how or has a resource, let me know! Uhh, let's see. That's all I can think of right now, but I think that is plennnnttty. Let the countdown begin!
I would recommend Broad Band Treatment. This treatment helps with rosacea as well as sun damage and cleans up the skin very nicely. It is the next generation of IPL treatments. It uses short blasts of high intensity light to target pigmentation (sun damage, age spots, freckles) and blood vessels (rosacea). The best part is that there is hardly any downtime and you can wear makeup the next day! Best, @Drjemmd
The short answer is yes, you can remove this tattoo completely. The question to how many treatments it will take will vary depending upon the laser used, depth and color of ink and age of the tattoo. Make sure you choose a doctor that has the latest cutting edge lasers including the PIQO4 laser. Treatments are spaced 4 weeks apart. Best, @Drjemmd
The Halo laser treatment is safe and effective for most skin types. Your doctor can customize settings according to your skin needs. The Halo hybrid fractional laser is exceptionally popular because it combines both ablative and non ablative wavelengths maximizing results with little downtime. Best, @Drjemmd
Microneedling with Radio Frequency heat repairs and remodels collagen through the heat that is passed through the microscopic channels of the microneedling. With this heat, you are stimulating your body to produce collagen, therefore helping to smooth out fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars while thickening and firming the skin. Best, @Drjemmd
Thanks for your question. The device should not be applied similarly to everyone. The provider must take into account the size of the patient and the anatomy and choose the correct grid (marking template to treat the appropriate area) and also should evaluate the skin thickness and the shape of the underarm. The treatment level essentially refers to the amount of energy being used. Level 5 is the upper most level. In some cases, a very thin patient with a deep set axilla, it may be prudent to use a lesser setting to avoid complications. That said, if the tumescent numbing and the correct template is used complications should be very very rare. Hope this helps! Best, Dr. M @DRJEMMD
