Wrinkles can "seem" worse after Xeomin (or Botox or Dysport) wears off. This is simply because you became used to seeing yourself with a more relaxed and less wrinkled forehead. It's a little bit of a visual phenomenon that occurs with both relaxers and fillers. We tend to forget what we looked like before a treatment, so when things return to a pretreated state, it can be a little disconcerting! If you get into a routine with injectables, their effects do seem to last longer and often a combination of relaxer like Xeomin and filler in adjacent areas gives extra improvements. It's pretty amazing what injectables can do for your appearance. There's no stretching going on. When you see a previously wrinkled and furrowed brow that's smooth, you might think it's stretched, but all that has happened is that the underlying muscles have been instructed to stop contracting. Xeomin is a close kissing cousin to Botox. Studies show that patients report the same levels of satisfaction and longevity - as well as a similar "kick-in" time when they noticed the effects.Xeomin is referred to as "naked" in the sense that it doesn't contain a specific protein like Botox. For long term Botox users, on occasion it can seem it stopped working. We don't have a scientific explanation other than possibly the body develops a level of immunity. In that case, we'll go from Botox to Xeomin to see if the "naked" aspect allows Xeomin to work for them.
