There were several reports in the past that showed a decreased inflammatory response in many skin conditions including psoriasis. That prompted hopes for topical form of Botulinum A toxin. I am not aware of any progress in this area.
Botox is not indicated for use in psoriasis and would have absolutely no effect on it at all
Hi audrao, I have extensive experience in Botox and have used it for some medical conditions but I have never used it to treat psoriasis. Psoriasis, an autoimmune disease is an inflammatory response and a documented study showed that Botox injections did help improve conditions in the axilla and groin areas. But as far as I know, it hasn't progressed much beyond the "study" stage.There are better ways to manage psoriasis, most of them begin with lifestyle changes. All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
Its necessary in some instances to to first try Botox /Dysport and if that's not enough to supplement with fillers. That will usually do the trick. Good luck!
Hi jjoo1234, I have extensive experience in Botox and Azzalure (Dysport also from Galderma) but I would have to say that the dose is much too low to cause any immobilization of the muscle. This is roughly only 1/3 of 1 unit of Botox. With Botox I would give at least 2 units per side...
