Would Botox or fillers help my bumpy/lumpy chin? (Photos)

Question

I'm only 28 years old and I have all of a sudden got an odd shaped chin , it has got lumps and bumps and looks weird looking. It's only when I have an open mouth smile I can't see anyone online with the same problem as mine. What is it and why has this happened! Would botox or filler get rid of it?

Thank you for sharing your question and photos. You are an excellent candidate for Botox (Xeomin or Dysport) to the chin (mentalis muscle) to reduce the “pebble chin” appearance. Once the Botox takes effect, the muscles will relax and you should enjoy a nice smoothing of the area. On average, Botox lasts for 3-4 months, at which time the procedure can be repeated for sustained results. In my practice, I use between 4-8 units in this area. I recommend consulting with a board-certified specialist who can evaluate you in persona and make more specific recommendations. Best, Dr. Kian.

Botox can certainly help with the cobbled stone look of the chin, where it relaxes it will be nice and smooth. Filler can be used to build up the chin and fix any divits. I would go and get assessed by a board certified plastic surgeon or a dermatologist for a accurate assessment.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photos, I would recommend both Botox and Fillers. Botox injected into the mentalist (chin muscle) will relax the dimpling of the skin upon expression and soften the area at rest as well. Filler will help replace some structure to the chin which will help improve the underlying cause of the mentalis muscle becoming hyperactive. Hope this helps!All the best, Dr. Solomon

Thank you for all the photos. you could use botox in the chin in order to relax the mentalis muscle and improve the lines what are formed during smile. Its hard to tell from the photo but it seems as if you also may have some scaring in that area. f that is the case you can combine botox with a laser treatment such as Deep Fx.

Thank you for your photos. Botox is a good option to consider because it targets the nerves controlling these muscles, causing the muscles to relax. The result is a temporary soothing of wrinkles caused by overactive muscles. However, based on your photos could also benefit from laser resurfacing and microneedling. Thanks for your question. Based on your photos, Botox may be helpful, though it's an off-label use of the product. That said, it can relax the muscles in the area and help smooth the skin out. It is somewhat difficult to tell, but some of the chin irregularities you have may be due to issues with your skin. For this reason, skin resurfacing or microneedling may be a helpful adjunct in this case as well. Yes, they can help.  Wrinkle blockers (e.g. Botox, Xeomin, Dysport) can help with "cobble-stoning" of the chin.  Filler can help with unevenness, grooves, and chin enhancement.  From your photos its hard to tell exactly what is going on-acne scarring or "moles" that have grown in the area?  Sometimes excision and/or resurfacing of the skin can be helpful.  Best regards.
