Is it possible that my inner thighs are still swollen one week post-op?

Thank you for your question. Yes it is normal to be swollen a week after treatment. This can sometimes last a few weeks, everyone is different when it comes to swelling. If you are still swollen and concerned after the second week, contact the physician who treated you for a follow up appointment. However keep in mind that it can take 3-4 months to see results, the legs usually take a little longer. Good luck!

We do sometimes see swelling for a few weeks after a CoolSculpting procedure and I expect that is what you are experiencing.  We have had great success treating the inner thigh area with CoolSculpting and with proper application you should expect your thigh gap to improve.

We always inform our patients that there will be swelling directly following the Coolsculpting procedure, and that this may last for up to 2 weeks.  In some cases, the swelling can even last up to a month, although this would be more rare.  The body is sending fluids into the treated area to remove the fat cells which have been destroyed.  It is actually a very necessary part of the post treatment process.  In fact, we instruct our patients to take Tylenol and not any type of anti-inflammatory, such as Ibuprofin, post treatment if there is any discomfort.  You actually need the inflammation.  It has only been one week, so give it a couple of months, and you will most likely be thrilled will your results. We have seen amazing transformations when treating the inner thighs.  Clients who had suffered with "thigh rub" for years were finally able to achieve the "gap" they had always wanted, with smooth, natural, permanent results. Thank you for your question. Yes, it is possible that you do still have some swelling. I would give it more time for this to resolve. Using the CoolAdvantage hand piece will result in less pain and better outcomes. If you still have concerns I recommend contacting your treating physician. 

It is possible to have residual swelling one week post-procedure.  You will start to notice results at around 4-6 weeks.  If the swelling does not subside by this time make an appointment with the office where you received your treatment.

What you are experiencing is absolutely normal and expected.  CoolSculpting is a medical procedure and the injury to the fat cells during the treatment causes swelling.  This will resolve on it's own within 2 weeks, typically sooner on the inner thigh area.  If compression garments feel better, you can wear those; but it's not necessary and will not change the results of your CoolSculpting treatment.  CoolSculpting results of fat layer reduction can begin to be noticeable in as little as 4 weeks after your procedure.  Your most dramatic results will be in 8 to 12 weeks as the fat layer reduces fully.  You should expect a 20% reduction in the fat layer thickness from just one treatment.  

Don't worry, just wait this out.  

So please do not worry! It is very normal to have some inflammatory swelling in the first 1-2 weeks after Coolsculpting. If it bothers you, consider wearing some spanx or other compression garments to reduce swelling and discomfort. The swelling should settle by 3-4 weeks and your results may take 2-3 months to show. 

It is possible to have residual swelling and bruising coolsculpting. It may persist for a couple of weeks in some cases. However, you will not observe improvement from coolsculpting after 1 week as it takes 4 - 6 weeks to see visible improvement. You may be noting variances due to the swelling reducing.

After coolsculpting there can be some residual swelling and even bruising. This should continue to improve for you. You noted it has gone down since treatment and I would expect it to further improve. Remember it takes over a month for the early results to be noted. I would encourage you to continue staying fit and follow up for your post treatment appointment.

Hello aliaa04,Thank you for your question. This in all likelihood is still residual swelling from the procedure. As you may have already been told results post CoolSculpting will only begin to be seen around one month out with maximum results being seen around three months. It is too early to be this concerned. Give it more time.
