I would suggest reviewing your before and after photos with your treating provider. You should compare if you're at equal weight and review the pictures. If indeed you appear worse ask for their opinion on repeating the treatments. They should also assess you for any issues including paradoxical hyperplasia. best of luck.
Sorry to hear about your problem. Considering you don't mention that the area has more volume or fullness, the chances of paradoxical hyperplasia are minimal. I'd see your provider and let them examine you and take some after photos to compare. There may be some very easy treatments to improve this.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa Aesthetic Centers
I recommend getting a formal evaluation with your Dr. to rule out paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, it is rare, but can be treated with a VASER hi def procedure. This type of fat is very fibrous and needs an energy based device to remove it. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.
I would advise you to have an appointment with your provider since you may be experiencing paradoxical hyperplasia. If it is the case, you will have to have surgical procedure and you may not undergo another coolsculpting treatment. Good luck!
I would advise you to have an appointment with your provider since you may be experiencing paradoxical hyperplasia. If it is the case, you will have to have surgical procedure and you may not be able to undergo another coolsculpting treatment. Good luck!
Hello , As recommended by other doctors , you would definitely need to consult with the health care professional that has done the treatment . It could be the rare side effect of paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, for which there is no spontaneous treatment and repeating the coolsculpting treatment may do more harm.
Please follow up with your treating physician for a full evaluation and examination of the area. Good luck with your continued recovery.
Hi terrinessler,Yes, you should visit your doctor as soon as possible. There is a very rare side-effect that may have occurred in this case called paradoxical adipose hyperplasia which is, simply put, an increase in the fatty tissue in the area treated. Your doctor will be able to confirm whether this is the case for you and then will most likely recommend correcting this issue with surgical means. She/he will also be able to assess the darkening of the area. Best of luck, Manish Khanna, MD
Follow up with your provider because you could have paradoxical adipose hyperplasia. It is a very rare side effect that can result from CoolSculpting, so make sure to take follow up pictures with your provider to compare. The only thing to fix PAH is liposuction. Unfortunately, doing more CoolSculpting on the area may make it worse, if you do have PAH.
Terri- thanks for your question. This is not something that we've observed in our Lipo Spa centers, but if you were our client and called and told us this, I would recommend that you come in for a physical evaluation to see the tissue in question. Zeltiq (the manufacturer of the CoolSculpting machine) is very good at working with doctor's offices regarding any questions about treatment plans and outcomes. Schedule a follow-up exam with the doctor's office who provided the service and take it from there. Best of luck to you, Doc Halliday
