Thank you for sharing your excellent question. For most patients undergoing a tummy tuck they most likely had stretch marks already present which became more visible as a result of the tightening of the skin. These stretch marks should improve in appearance as the swelling in the skin improves and the skin begins to relax. Hang in there!
Thanks for your inquiry, stretch marks form during hormonal surges like puberty, pregnancy, and massive weight gain. Most likely you had the stretch marks already and they are in a new location or more prominent. Please discuss with your surgeon, good luck.
Stretch marks occur during periods of rapid growth, which stretches the skin, AND a hormonal change. While the skin is pulled tight with a tummy tuck, there isn't usually any hormonal change that is occurring and thus NEW stretch marks will not occur.
Thanks for your question. Most, if not all of the stretch marks will be removed during a tummy tuck procedure. If you have these stretch marks above your belly button, it will be more difficult to remove. For the best outcome an in office consultation is necessary with a board certified plastic surgeon.Good Luck
Thank you for your question. It is variable which women will get stretch marks with pregnancy, weight loss, etc. Stretch marks below the belly button can typical be removed with a tummy tuck. Those above the belly button are pulled down tight which diminishes their appearance. I think it would be extremely unlikely to cause new stretch marks with the skin tightening of a tummy tuck. Good luck.

A patient cannot and should not be totally immobilized after lower body lift (LBL) surgery, so getting the skin flaps to heal and seal to the underlying tissues is critical to avoid fluid accumulation. I personally use one or two drains anteriorly (the tummy tuck area), whether it's a standard...
Thank you for your question. To reduce it, I always recommend to my patients to perform daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the abdomen and wear a postoperative girdle from thigh to the breasts.Kind regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
It looks like you still have fat, and may have looseness in your abdominal wall. You need to discuss with you plastic surgeon, and specifically if he/she tightened your abdominal wall. Good luck!
Thank you for your inquiry. It would be unlikely to have a suture break at this time. The repair of your muscle should also be pretty well healed by 6 weeks. The scar tissue at time is strong but hasn't matured enough to be pliable yet. That takes several more months. Most likely you pu...
