I'm nearly a year out from a mommy makeover and I'm feeling regretful. What do I do? (Photos)

I recommend that you follow up in person with your surgeon to discuss your concerns after your mommy makeover procedures. If you do not feel like you were concerns are being heard, it is well within your rights to schedule a consultation with another experienced board-certified plastic surgeon.

One way to address your concerns is to perform revision surgery, which in your case may include breast pocket revision and abdominal scar revision with possible additional liposuction.
I would recommend to wait at least a full year from your original surgery prior to undergoing revision surgery because the wound healing takes up to 1 year to be completed.
I would definitely discuss your questions and concerns with your Plastic Surgeon or seek another evaluation by a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon.

All your concerns are reasonable and fixable. If your breast is going into your armpit, a revisional surgery can be undertaken to put some stitches on the side of your breast from the inside to stop the implant from moving into your armpit. The asymmetry of your flanks can be corrected with liposuction. The bulge in your lower abdomen and the shape of your belly button can be corrected with a scar revision. All of the above can be done in one sitting under general anesthesia in 2-3 hours. I would recommend that you discuss these concerns and possible solutions with your plastic surgeon and see what they say.

Your lateral breast pockets can be tightened. Additional liposuction can be done is fullness is still present. Your lateral abdominal scars can be revised. Please go back to your surgeon and discuss your concerns and options. Do remember, you two sides are not always even to start.

Sometimes it’s hard for us to fully assess results without preoperative photographs. However, it does appear as though you have a very aesthetic result. Understand, however, that body contouring can often require slight revisions to reach your final goal. Discuss your results with your plastic surgeon, but realize that you have a great result at this time. There are things that can be subtly, changed, or improved upon, but I would focus on the fact that you have an excellent outcome and a safe result. We are happy to help in any way we can.

The first recommendation would be to set up a follow up visit with your original plastic surgeon to discuss your surgery and the results. You should be clear with the expectations you had and how they were not met. Often times he/she will be the one best served to help you because he/she is familiar with your anatomy and can explain if there were any issues preventing what you were hoping for. He/she will also be much more likely to address the issue for minimal cost. If you are not hearing what you want to hear then I would recommend consulting with a separate board certified plastic surgeon. Bring all your medical records and be sure to be able to communicate exactly what you are looking for so he/she can give you a realistic idea of whether your expectations can be met.

All your concerns can be addressed with revisional surgery. You probably would benefit from a formal mastopexy or breast lift. The "dog ear" scars on each end of the abdominoplasty can easily be addressed with excision. Many patients require a second or sometimes even a third surgery in order to reach a level of satisfaction.

I'm sorry you are unhappy with your Mommy Makeover results. The good news is that the concerns you have can be addressed. The breast pocket can be tightened up to help with implant positioning.
