Hi there and thanks for your question! As other surgeons have stated, Miradry does not cause breast cancer. Miradry uses microwave technology to target the apocrine glands (sweat-producing glands) and does not use any type of radiation. There is no harm to the surrounding tissue or lymph nodes. More more information, I suggest an in-person consultation. Best of luck!
miraDry does not cause breast cancer. It is a safe, FDA cleared treatment for permanently reducing underarm sweat, odor and hair. miraDry uses microwave technology to target your sweat-producing glands. The microwaves can not harm your surrounding tissues or lymph nodes.Thank you for your question and best of luck!
BBLdoll2015,We get questions about miradry and the effect on surrounding tissues frequently. It is helpful to know that the sweat and odor glands lie 4-5 mm under the skin's surface. These glands are the target of the treatment and there is no effect on breast tissue. We've treated a number of patients who've had breast cancer so long as they haven't had radiation or surgery (lymph node removal) in the area to be treated. I hope this helps. Our patients love the permanent effects of miradry!
MiraDry is used to treat the underarm. I am a little confused by the question. It only works at the levels deep enough to disrupt and destroy hair, sweat and odor producing structures.
Thanks for your inquiry and I appreciate your concerns. MiraDry uses thermal energy to destroy sweat glands underneath the arms, which in turn minimizes the amount of sweat produced in this area by a substantial amount. The heat energy generated by the device does not cause any type of cancer. Patients enjoy permanent sweat reduction in this problem area, with few side effects or risks associated with the procedure overall. Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon experienced in the MiraDry procedure to obtain more information. Good luck!
Thank you for your question. MiraDry does not cause breast cancer. Using microwave energy (not radiation) MiraDry eliminates the eccrine and apocrine sweat glands in the axilla. The apocrine sweat gland is associated with hair follicles and these are eliminated as well. It is for this reason MiraDry is FDA cleared for eliminating axillary hair, sweat and odor. MiraDry does not affect any other surrounding structures and does not cause breast cancer.Best Wishes,James Fernau, MD, FACS
No, more on miradry on miradry.com.au, it uses microwave energy to non selectively destroy eccrine and apocrine glands. It does NOT use radiation energy - so it it safe. All the best, Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
At this time, unfortunately miraDry is not covered by insurance anywhere, even though you know you suffer from hyperhydrosis. It is a wonderful treatment, so I hope that doesn't discourage you from finding a way to get it done. Many miraDry providers will offer some sort of financing options for...
Depending on how sensitive your underarms are feeling, I would recommend waiting 5-7 days after treatment before shaving! Be careful shaving, as the underarm may be lumpy from swelling! Best Wishes,
I've narrowed it down to 3 needle sticks per axillae. From these 3 needles sticks, the whole armpit is tumesced (numbed). I have posted a video of it being performed. Hope that helps
Hi there and thanks for your question! Miradry uses energy to directly target and eliminate your sweat glands in your underarm area. It does not effect your breast glands, lymph nodes, or other important structures in the axillary area. You are safe to breastfeed after your treatment. Bes...
