I did miraDry and one of my armpits smells and the other doesn't --can I use deodorant even though iI have swelling?

Thanks for your question. Soon after MiraDry, an increase in odor can occur temporarily. It is safe to use a spray deodorant after 72 hours. If you continue to be concerned please have an evaluation with your treating physician.Good luck. Dr. ALDO 

If its been at least 4 days after treatment, and so long there is no broken skin, you are able to use deodorant. i recommend following up with your physician/Aesthetician, being that each protocol is different. Most people do require 2 treatments, so it is okay to still have some sweating and odor after only 1 treatment.

Thank you for your question.Yes it is safe to use deodorant. The odour and sweat can take several weeks to settle properly. See your doctor after three months to evaluate the treatment and plan a second one if required.

Yes you can use some deodorant or antiperspirant for now.  After 3 months you can have a second treatment.

Yes, you will likely need another miraDry treatment on the side that is still sweating.  For now, you can definitely use deodorant or antiperspirant, as long as it doesn't irritate your skin.  

The swelling and lumps can last up to 6 weeks at times and will resolve eventually - it always takes longer than you want !  You can use some deodorant for now, but if you find that it is irritating the skin you may have to stop.    Wait the full 3 months to see the final effect and check back with your doctor to see if a 2nd treatment is needed.  In our clinic, 15% of patients require a 2nd treatment.
