Are these Dysport injections too low for crows feet? (Photo)

Hi and thank you for your question! The exact locations of injections for correcting crow's feet might vary from patient to patient and you should not be worried about that as long as you do not see any unexpected results. You didn't indicate when you received the injections, but it generally can take up to 2 weeks for the Dysport results to fully settle and for the muscles to adjust to it and hence, I wouldn't even be much worried about the aesthetic results before then. At that time if there are any concerns with the aesthetic results, please do a follow up with your provider. Hi,thank you for your question.It's difficult to answer your question without evaluating the location of your muscles. The general rule of thumb is not to treat too low when treating the crow's feet as it can inadvertently affect the zygomaticus muscle and cause smile asymmetry; however, the position of this muscle varies slightly from person to person.I encourage you to not worry at this time as the treatment has already been performed and you were seen by an experienced injector. The full results will be at 2 weeks so if you're happy with your results at that time, you shouldn't have any problem after that.Hope that helps!

It takes up to 2 weeks to see the full effects of any anti wrinkle injections. From the pictures I believe your smile will not be affected as the injection point is in the correct area. At Star Cosmetic medicine we always recommend a 2 week follow up with your practitioner where we can asses the treatment and do any top ups if need be. 

The orbicularis oculi muscle does extend down to the area you have indicated.  For maximum improvement of your crows feet, this injection site is reasonable.  However, in occasional patients, the Dysport may seep into the zygomaticus muscles, reducing your ability to smile.  It's pretty simple: if your smile is intact, then keep injecting this area.  If your smile is compromised, then your injector will shift your injections a little higher in the future.

Hello and thank you for the photo. Crow’s feet are those pesky lines you have at the corners of your eyes when you smile. Since everyone’s facial structure is different it’s impossible say that your crow’s feet will be in the exact location as another’s. However, since you just had Dysport injected, I suggest waiting two weeks and then assess the result. If you are still dissatisfied, return to your physician for a second look.

I would have to palpate your orbital rim to see how far away from the rim you are, it looks like if its to low it would be only a few millimeters low. That area is still safe because you are still lateral ( to the side) the mouth will be more affected closer to the midline where your pupil is when resting and looking straight forward. Also it is a dose relationship , if your doctor placed 10u there then yes it could spread but in all likelihood since you say they are experienced 2-4 u were more likely again safe in that area. I think you will be fine and not have any mouth issues

although 'crows feet',  or the wrinkle that appear when you smile, can join with lines in the cheek, where you are pointing appears too low, and may indeed affect your ability to smile due to affect on muscles in the same area that elevate the corner of your lip. while it is tempting to treat this area with botulinum toxin, there real issue across the midface is volume shifts, and filler to your cheeks can improve these lines without affecting your smile.
hopefully you do not have an asymmetric smile! if you do, the only thing to do it wait it our unfortunately.

Although a low injection in the crowd feet can affect the muscles that pull up the edge of the mouth the area you are indicating should not give you that problem. Ir could depend on the dilution the provider used at to whether it will migrate a bit from the site. An experienced injector would be able to inject here without that side effect.  By now you should have you answer as dysport worls quickly.

I think it is unlikely you will experience any problems with the injection points as you have pointed to, especially since you went to an experienced physician.
