Good evening, I am a 27 year old boy, I would like to shorten just the tip of the nose. I would like to know if it is possible to make a "rinotip" or would the septum be affected? I attach photos of how it is now and how I would like it more or less. Thanks so much!
Answer: Isolated tip adjustment The short answer is yes, it is possible to reduce the tip projection and length and maintain the bridge. The lower part of the septum may still be deviated even if outside the lower part of the nose appears straight. If present, when the tip is shortened, this may need to be addressed. Sometimes, the lower part of the septum is too long pushes the tip down. This may require shortening somewhat the lower border of the septum or changing the relationship between the septum and the tip cartilages. You need to discuss you requirements with your surgeon and ideally ask to see before and after images that reflect similar changes.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty, a cephalic rotation of your tip to turn up your tip slightly, and a nasal tip deprojection to shorten the entire length of your nose. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon. If you cannot find enough real before and after pictures, then consider continuing your search for a surgeon.Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACS Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Can I shorten just the tip of the nose? Hello Thanks for your question. Firstly, your demand may be done with tip plasty (by increasing your nose rotation and reducing projection of your nose). Secondly, while doing this procedure, it may required a little bit excision from part of your septum where adjacent this area in order to gain a nice nasolabial angle.Sincerely.

Answer: Shortening the nose Hi thereYes your nose is correctable by shortening the nose. However you need a rhinoplasty and there is no shortcut to getting a good result. Every movement in rhinoplasty affects another part, so at the end the entire nose needs to be balanced and fit your face.It is true you may not need much dorsal work, but please base your decision on expertise and not "short or easy" procedures. Leave the surgeon to guide you as to the best way of achieving your realistic final result.I hope this helps.
