Dr Peter Callan performed a Blepharoplasty, browlift and eyelid ptosis 2 months ago. I am very appreciative of the guidance and care that l received from Peter and his team throughout the whole process. All my questions were answered in a friendly but professional manner ensuring that l was well informed and well prepared for the surgery. I am extremely pleased with the final results and would highly recommend Peter and his staff to others.
I recently had a revision rhinoplasty and septoplasty performed by Dr. Peter Callan, and I couldn't be happier with the results and the overall experience. Dr. Peter Callan is truly a master of his craft. From the initial consultation to the post op follow-up's, Dr. Callan's expertise and attention to detail were evident. He took the time to understand my goals and provided realistic expectations, which made me feel confident and well-informed. The results have been life changing. Not only has my breathing improved significantly, but the aesthetic enhancements have beyond exceeded my expectations. My nose looks natural and perfectly complements my facial features. I am extremely grateful for the care I received from Dr. Callan, Christine, Joyce and Brooke and would highly recommend Dr. Callan and his wonderful staff to anyone considering plastic surgery.
I had a rhinoplasty with Peter Callan about 2 months ago and I couldn’t be happier with the result. The surgery was something I had wanted for a while and I’m so glad I followed through with it. All the staff involved in the process were completely lovely and made the process really easy.
I had a full facelift surgery with Peter Callan approximately 4 months ago and I couldn’t be happier! After menopause I noticed the skin on my face and neck was sagging, I had bags under my eyes, etc. Now I look in the mirror and and I’m incredibly happy with the transformation. I can’t thank him enough!
I’ve pondered this review for a long time and truly feel that 8 months post my facelift there are still not enough words that truly do justice to the incredible skills and expertise possessed by Dr Callan. I think it’s important to mention that I didn’t get a facelift to look younger. I initially sought Dr Callan’s advice for lip lines and forehead lines. I soon realised these weren’t the main issues I needed to address. At 54 I was experiencing global changes to my face due to menopause. Dr Callan was incredibly honest and realistic in explaining the results I could expect from any surgical or non surgical approach to facial rejuvenation. I also spent many hours researching surgeons in Victoria and around the world and can honestly attest to the fact Dr Callans results are exemplary and comparable to renowned international surgeons who charge considerably more for the same surgery. It is important to remember a face lift is major surgery and you need to embark upon it with realistic expectations and a surgeon who prides themselves on attention to detail. As a highly respected leader in his field Dr Callan deserves the highest accolades for his honesty, compassion and for producing results that have literally changed my life. I look in the mirror everyday with a huge smile on my face and feel incredibly grateful. My confidence has been restored and I now love having my photo taken and wearing makeup. These are two things I hated as I never felt good about my appearance. For those wondering I also have zero scars and my skin is the best it’s ever been. It’s also important to give a special mention to Joyce, Brooke and Christine. Truly beautiful ladies who go out of their way to make the journey even easier. As a team they were with me every step of the way checking in on me and providing calm positivity and reassurance.
had pondered some facial work for many many years so this was well thought out and a well considered decision. I asked other cosmetic people in melbourne if they had any recommendations for surgery and Peter was suggested and to my surprise he was right here in my home town of Geelong. I had done injectables but father time had taken toll and my jowls were affecting how I felt and a dislike for photos etc, of course friends say they arent bad but i "felt" they were and after a few consultations with Peter he assured me he could improve the jowls and also a facelift. My wishes had been granted and the results are amazing I was told he was a perfectionist and did great work, well thats exactly my experience. Although many might only consider the skill of the surgeon as the prime reason for making a selection but it is clear that Peter and his team excel in all areas. Yes Peter is an exceptional surgeon, calmly explaining what he recommended and what I could expect, making it understood that there are things that may go wrong but assured me it was rare but this is information that is important. Peter ensured I went in with both eyes open. Peters work was amazing, the pre surgery care was brilliant, the surgery and post surgery care was exceptional. Follow up appointments months after to ensure results have settled and everything is ok, well its better than ok it fills my heart with joy and I "feel" so much better, I'm estatic ! Peter and his staff checked on me dozens of times, checking how I was, giving moral support, assuring me the recovery process was going well making sure that not just my physical health was progressing but my mental and emotional health was on track. A great surgeon isnt enough he needs a great network around him and Peter has a medical care team that excels insupport, helping me at each and every step of the process with knowledge and a genuine interest in my well being. Peter and his team are way beyond surgery, they complete the package with an attention to detail I thought no longer existed. I cant recommend Peter Callan higly enough, I am happy, I am confident I am rejuvinated and with no visible scars anywhere on my face !
When I first started the process of looking for a surgeon for my breast reduction, I was quite overwhelmed, but after finding Dr Peter Callan's website and looking at the pictures of his work, I knew I had found the right surgeon for me. My first phone call was answered by Joyce who was absolutely amazing in talking me through the process and didn't pressure me into making a booking right there and then which was great. At my first consultation Brooke made me feel very at ease and meeting with Dr Callan confirmed that I was 100% in very capable and very skilled hands. Bron is just fantastic at her job and helped eased my nerves at my post surgery appointment. The first time I saw my comparison photos post surgery, I cried happy tears as the results far exceeded my expectations. Four months post surgery and I still get that same feeling. If you are looking for a surgeon that is not only brilliant at his job but also has a great bed side manner and also has a wonderful team, then Dr Peter Callan is your pick. If I knew going to Dr Peter Callan was going to bring me the results I have now, I would have done it sooner. Everyone I met during my journey made me feel like I was the centre of attention, before, during and after. I cannot thank Dr Peter Callan and his team enough.
Dr Callan performed a Rhinoplasty to improve my breathing three months ago. Not only has my breathing dramatically improved, I'm left with a functional and aesthetically pleasing nose. It's often not easy to achieve results where form and function are equally important, but Dr Callan has blown me away with my new nose. The whole team are incredible and made the experience comfortable and seamless. If you're after a Plastic Surgeon in Geelong, Melbourne or Victoria, Dr Callan is the man for the job.
I had been considering plastic surgery for many years. I was unsure who to trust. I had a consultation with Peter Callan about having Blepharoplasty. I was really interested in a face lift. though was concerned about the procedure and how I would look afterwards. Peter provided a full assessment. We talked about expectations. I felt reassured and confident that I was in safe and professional hands. I looked at before and after photos of Peters previous client’s results. They looked so natural. On the day of surgery, I was a little nervous and excited. Every detail was meticulously organised. It certainly makes a difference when you deal with pleasant staff from the anaesthetist and all those involved in my overnight hospital stay. My biggest surprise after surgery was how fantastic my neck and jawline looked. It was still me, I was very happy. Peter is clearly one of the most experienced plastic surgeons in Australia. He is friendly with a straightforward approach. After surgery, follow up was amazing by the Christine with phone calls. I could even call Christine on the weekend if I had any concerns. I must also mention Peter’s staff, who are all kind and supportive. I highly recommend Peter for anyone considering plastic surgery.
Quite simply and honestly - Peter changed my life! At 50, my face was starting to show the effects of sun loving, and filler and tox was no longer able to carry the heavy load. I have ptosis in my left eye and this was worsening too. Then in early 2022, I developed serious hyperthyroidism and Graves disease and lost a lot of weight as a result, very quickly. This really ravaged my face and I lost a lot of fat and volume, and got really jowly. For quite some time, the face looking back at me in the mirror was almost unrecognisable from the person I felt inside. I became more withdrawn and anti-social and felt like I was becoming a grumpy old woman. I did a lot of research and after several recommendations for Peter from trusted colleagues in the medi-aesthetics field, I made an appointment to see him. After my first meeting I knew Peter was the right surgeon and they were the right team for me, I didn't need to look any further. Warm, friendly and gentle in his approach, Peter was honest and realistic about the results we could achieve, which made me feel really comfortable. I had had a neck lift some years earlier which had failed, so I was really anxious that my necklift would work this time, and I was worried about visible scarring. I really needn't have worried, but the comprehensive and real photos on his website made me feel much more at ease, along with lots of honest discussion. And 4.5 months post surgery, my scars are invisible and my neck looks sooooo good! Delayed by covid and my Graves disease, finally in April this year (2023) I had my surgery - a full facelift and necklift, with blepharoplasty and ptosis repair, as well as fat grafting. I wasn't at all nervous as I had such trust in Peter. St John of God hospital in Geelong was fabulous, and the nursing staff there are first class! I awoke after surgery and felt groggy, but great. I really felt virtually no pain at all through the entire healing process. I bruise really badly and the bruising at the fat graft sites was quite colourful, but faded within the month, and my scars were almost invisible within a few weeks. The day after surgery when the bandages came off...I cried, a LOT. Looking back at me in the mirror was the reflection of the person I felt inside. I finally felt harmony between the internal and the external. My healing was a breeze and I followed all instructions to the letter, sleeping upright and then on raised pillows for the first few weeks, massaging my face and using the rose quartz roller daily. After a month, I started having lymphatic drainage facials which really helped with swelling, and a healthy diet with lots of water meant my swelling was barely noticeable even to me after about 2 months The ladies at the practice - Christine, Jess, Joyce, Brooke and Bronwyn - are all just divine! They genuinely care and made coming into the clinic for check-ups a fun experience with their warmth and interest in my progress. Jess is an absolute artist when it comes to make-up! It's now almost 5 months since surgery, and I can't even remember how the 'old' me looked and felt (except when I look at pics and then it's hard to believe that was actually me!). I no longer shy away from looking in the mirror, and my confidence and thirst for life is back. Peter is quite simply a master at his craft, but not just that, he has a lovely manner and energy and made the entire process a positive one. I wouldn't let another surgeon other than Peter touch my face and neck again, so please keep on practicing for a loooong time Peter!
Your surgeon is wise to entertain this possibility. Modern rhinoplasty often uses cartilage pieces (known as grafts) to both shape and stabilise the final result. This cartilage is usually obtained from redundant septum far back in the nose where it is not required. After a septoplasty some of this may have been removed, and what you have left may be necessary for structural integrity. It is possible there is enough there, but if not it has to be obtained from elsewhere if cartilage graft is required, which it often is. Ear cartilage can be suitable for some, but as it is not straight its application can be limited. Rib is an excellent option. Rib allograft (from a donor) may be a possibility in some places also. I hope this helps.
The answer to your question is yes. If anything, your imaging is conservative, and a greater improvement could be made as the tip needs some slight elevation as well. When you say "without my nostrils being affected" it's hard to know exactly what you mean, but if you don't want any tip elevation or shortening that can also be achieved. I hope this helps.
Hi there. It's hard to know from what you have shown. However the following may help. A deviated septum of itself is not a problem unless it leads to physical or functional nose problems. In fact most people have a deviated septum without any issues. The septum is reasonably large and has both a cartilaginous and bony component. The cartilaginous part is usually the part people are referring to. If the deviated septum is present along the dorsal or caudal parts it may lead to the nose being visibly twisted or the septum visible in one nostril at rest. Deviations other than this in the body of the septum or along the floor or the part attached to the bony septum don't really matter unless they also obstruct the airway. The cracking noise usually doesn't mean much and is not uncommon. So unless your nose is blocked all the time, or looks twisted or the nostrils look very asymmetric, I wouldn't worry. If you are worried then get assesssed by an expert in rhinoplasty. Many nasal breathing problems are only partially contributed to by the septum whether it's deviated or not, and surgery on the septum may not help even if it is deviated. One final tip. If you are ever going to get your septum operated on by itself, only do that if you are happy with your nasal appearance and your breathing problem is substantially caused by the septum. If you want your nasal appearance changed or your nasal configuration is contributing to your breathing issues, then the septum and the rhinoplasty should be done at the same operation. I hope this helps.
Hi there. It’s hard to tell without more photos but I would guess that from the front your nasal tip is slightly deviated to the right, or the middle part of your nose is slightly deviated to the left. This usually explains such asymmetries in three quarter views. Asymmetry in the tip cartilages can also be a cause. It looks relatively minor however. I hope this helps.
It's a good question but not true. However like all of these difficult issues there is a little truth. Let me explain. Rhinoplasty is an operaton of aesthetics, balance, function, stability over time, and appropriateness. Thick skin primarily affects balance and aesthetics. Given that the skin is thickest at the nasal tip, the underlying aesthetics of tip definition and shape need to be exaggerated to shine through, and even that can take a couple of years. In a secondary rhinoplasty with thick skin and scar the same is true and can be moreso. As far as balance is concerned, the tip will look big for a while, but this will settle unless the dorsum has been made too small, in which case the balance will always be wrong and the tip will look big. Thick skin doesn't shrink much compared to thin skin, so thick skinned noses cannot be made too small. Thinning the tip tissues is not always an option, as one can get into a spiral of reactive scar. This can make things more difficult. Despite all of this, rhinoplasty in thick skinned individuals is fine, as long as the surgeon prepares for all of this. Before a primary rhinoplasty and occasionally secondary, skin thinning treatments are available that help a lot. You should speak to your surgeon about these options and this may help you get the optimal result. I hope this helps.
