Hi there! I’m Lauren, the aesthetic injector here at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. Filler can take up to two weeks to fully settle. If you're still noticing unevenness after that time, I’d recommend following up with your provider for a consultation so they can take a look.
Most people have asymmetrical face and body which is considered normal. Patients do not notice this asymmetry on a daily basis but they start noticing it after the filler procedure. It is very essential that the physician/injector spends time evaluating your baseline anatomy with and with out facial expressions. Taking photographs in various angles and explaining the baseline asymmetry is crucial. Sometimes it may not be possible to correct the asymmetry even with injectables. I would advice you to wait for few wks, till the swelling subsides and have a look at your before and after photos with your injector, then decide whether you need more or dissolve the filler.Best WishesDr. Shanthala
Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry that your current results have caused you concern. In the first 2 weeks after treatment swelling can cause some temporary asymmetries between sides of the face and it is important to give enough time for this to resolve before moving to treatment. I would try reducing the swelling by elevating your head at night with a couple of extra pillows behind your back and by using Arnica Montana and bromelain as supplements. If after two weeks the results are still not what was expected, have your injector dissolve the material. Hope this helps.
It takes 2 weeks for final results. At this point, your results may improve some. However, a touch-up may be needed to improve symmetry. I recommend following up with your injector. Hope this helps.
It can take up to two weeks for you to see your final results from your Voluma treatment. If after this time you still have concerns, return to your injector for an evaluation. A touch up can be done if needed.
It is too soon to worry about asymmetry. It usually takes 2-4 weeks for Voluma to settle and the swelling can be asymmetrical. You may have a small bruise in the deeper layers that is invisible to the eye but can cause asymmetrical swelling. Give it 2 weeks and then return to your physician to see if you need a little tweaking. Good luck!
Hello, Thankyou for your question. After one-week post injection, it is not uncommon tofeel and see some asymmetry in one side verses another. Asymmetry can occur fora variety of reasons. I would advise for you to follow up with a boardcertified plastic surgeon or an experienced nurse injector to discuss yourconcerns and implement a plan to correct the asymmetry. Dependingon your goals, the doctor can either inject more filler (needed if one side isunder-filled) or use an enzyme (hyaluronidase), to reduce or dissolve thefullness.
Thank you for your question! Voluma is an excellent hyaluronic acid for mid face volume correction as it projects nicely and, when injected appropriately, results in a natural, "lifted" outcome. It is no uncommon to experience mild swelling following any injection to variable degrees. Swelling, as well as potential bruising can take about 1-2 weeks to resolve. For this reason, following up with patients two weeks following injections is recommended. At that time, the patient can be reassessed and, if needed, touch ups performed.
Thank you for your question. It is advisable to wait a full two weeks before assessing final results of filler placement. While the healing process ensues, it is common for swelling to be greater on one side then the other due to uneven trauma from procedure or perhaps sleeping on one side vs. the other. If there seems to be continued unevenness after two weeks, be sure to contact your provider and follow up. I hope this helps.
Hi, great question! First, each side of us is not identical but rather our sides (including the sides of our faces) develop as siblings so some asymmetry is completely normal. Second, Voluma takes about 2 weeks to fully settle. Third, if at that time, you are still concerned about symmetry, see your injecting physician and review pre/post photos and have a discussion. It is very common to get a touch up injection to help balance further.
