This depends on where they are. At the from, any below the level of the belly-button are likely to be removed, and higher ones will be moved down and be tighter, so usually look better. At the back, there is little skin movement down, and only the skin just above the buttocks is removed, so if higher than this, they will not change, nor pulled much tighter (as here the buttocks are pulled up, rather than the back sin pilled down.Regards, Dr Steve Merten, Sydney
Thank you for your question! There is a good chance that a portion of the stretch marks will be removed during surgery. I would recommend consulting with your surgeon ahead of time to find out where he plans on making the incision and discuss how much skin will be removed.
Hi Jennifurby, Thank you for your question about removing stretch marks on the back with a 360 circumferential lower body lift. The answer really depends on where your back stretch marks are located. If your back stretch marks are on your lower back, the 360 circumferential lower body lift may remove them. Typically, if your low back stretch marks are about 4 inches above your normal beltline, your back stretch marks can be removed. However, if your back stretch marks are any higher, your back stretch marks will probably not be removed with a 360 circumferential lower body lift. To remove these upper back stretch marks, you may need a horizontal torsoplasty or bra strap lift. During the horizontal torsoplasty or bra strap lift, an incision is placed across the back and a butterfly shaped area of back skin and fat is removed. Please study before and after pictures of the 360 circumferential lower body lift. Carefully examine to see where others have had their lower back stretch marks removed. Remember, if the back stretch marks are low, they can be removed with a body lift. If the back stretch marks are high, they can be removed with a horizontal torsoplasty or upper bra strap lift. When you are considering reconstructive plastic surgery or lower body lift, please seek a body lift expert. If you need to travel out of state, please do so. Please seek a board-certified, experienced plastic surgeon who has performed hundreds of body lifts. If you have any more questions regarding the360 circumferential lower body lift, bra strap back lift, or horizontal torsoplasty, please contact my office. Sincerely, Dr.Katzen
Thank you for your question, I don't believe the stretch marks will be removed, an in person consultation would be best for a detailed exam and evaluation.always see a board certified PS
I don't believe the stretchmarks will all be removed, but some of the might. I usually will draw on my patients the skin we wish to target and remove so they can see what portions of the stretchmarks are to be removed. I think you should talk to your surgeon about what will be removed and what will remain.Good luck. Dr. ALDO
It all depends on where your excess skin is and what parts have stretch marks. Its certainly possible that a large piece of tissue can be removed from the lower back that includes a lot of your stretch marks ! Also, if the remaining skin is pulled tighter, stretch marks that stay behind often look a little better.
Thank you for your question. If your stretch marks are located where the skin is being removed, then in short, yes. Speak with your PS about this prior to your procedure to ensure your expectations are met.
If the stretch marks are in the areas where your waistline is, yes most likely the stretch marks will be removed, at least partially. The lower the stretch marks are (closer to your buttocks) the more completely they will be removed. If you can repost your question with a photo, your question can be answered more accurately but a physical exam in person with a plastic surgeon will give you the definitive answer. Best of luck!
A lower body lift is a circumferential procedure that includes a tummy tuck, thigh lift and buttock lift all in one so if you have loose skin and stretch marks in the lowest part of the back they may be removed with the procedureWhen you go in for your consultation your surgeon can outline exactly the areas that will be removed during the procedureWishing you all the best Alain Polynice, MD, FACSNew York Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
Hi there Jenni,It depends where the stretch marks are. The upper incision is usually just above where your underpants sit and the lower incision is part way down your buttock. If the stretch marks are in this zone, then they will be removed.I dont think it would be appropriate to reposition the incisions to incorporate stretch marks if they are outside this zone. I suspect your stretch marks are either in this zone or just below. Even if they are just below, they will often be improved by being placed on stretch after a body lift. This is often the case with stretch marks on the tummy which are above the upper incision.RegardsRichard
