Hi! Thanks for your question. The mons is a very straightforward area to treat with liposuction. It can very reasonably done in under 45 minutes with local anesthesia in an office setting. Of course, if you are more comfortable, general anesthesia or sedation could be used instead. Two small (sub-centimeter) incisions would most likely be used and are very well hidden. You could likely return to work in 2 days. Discomfort would be similar to soreness after a workout. I included a video of a patient describing his recovery after much more extensive liposuction. Hope this helps!
For lipo of the mons since it is such a limited area, this can be done under local anesthesia in the office setting. This helps defray the anesthesia cost.
Thank you for your questions. This is heavily dependent on each surgeon and his or her chosen technique. There is no standard of care here and the treatment should be tailored to your case and your goals. Make sure you discuss all these questions with your chosen surgeon and make sure he or she is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.Hope this helps!Dallas R. Laura. Liposuction of one, well defined area easily gives you the option of traditional liposuction with just local anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. It is done in the office, and recovery fairly easy and you should be able to return to work within one or two days after the procedure. Even though this is a fairly straightforward procedure, be certain to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to greatly increase your chances of the best possible result. Good luck
In the few women who have isolated mons pubis issues, liposuction can be used. Usually, the mons and the rest of the tummy have fat and/or skin laxity, and procedures such as TT or TT with liposuction may be more appropriate. Pubic liposuction is effective and, if there is a thickness of 2.5 inches, you should notice a very nice improvement. An exam will be necessary to determine if liposuction alone will be sufficient. Mons liposuction is a quick procedure that yields nice results in the appropriate patient. Bruising and swelling can last up to 6 weeks but will be dependent upon amount liposuctioned; there can be quite a bit swelling early due to the dependent nature of the pubic area.
For most patient mons pubis lipo can be done under local anesthesia in the office. One thing to consider is that you must be careful how much fat is removed from this area because if too much is removed it can make intimacy uncomfortable. I would recommend seeing a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss your goals and expectations.I hope this helps!
Liposuction of the mons pubis can be done in the office under local anesthesia with some oral sedation, and in a surgery center with IV sedation or general anesthesia. This area is easily treated with liposuction. You will wear a surgical garment after surgery to help minimize swelling. I would suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon and discussing your options.
Options for treatment vary to amount of excess fat and if excess skin? Minor fat collections can be treated by off label KyBella injection series up to 3 sessions once a month (fee from $800-$1,200 per session). Moderate fat to larger amounts can be liposuction (any technique of lipo) under local anesthesia (fee $2,500+). If excess skin with fat a combination of excision of skin/fat with lipo can be offered, usually under local with sedation or light general anesthesia (fee in $3,000+).
