I've noticed a few women that have had liposuction had gotten burnt some have said they noticed the burn while in recovery.
Answer: Burn after liposuctions Liposuction by itself does not cause a burn. However, devices used in conjunction with liposuction such as vaser or laser devices can cause a burn if used incorrectly. These devices use heat in order to try to melt fat and tighten skin. If used too superficially or too aggressively, these devices can cause a burn. Make sure when considering body contouring that you consult with an expert; devices are just tools and are not substitutes for good technique.

Answer: Burn from liposuction! What causes this to happen? Thank you for your question. This occurs from getting too close to the skin repeatedly from laser/ultrasonic/ devices. Best to seek an experienced Board Certified Plastic surgeon. Best wishes,

Answer: Liposuction Burn Techniques which use ultrasonic and/or laser energy have a risk of thermal injury to the skin and other structures during the liposuction procedure. This is why many experienced surgeons prefer not to use these devices. Most of the time the injury will heal and you will have little to no visible scarring. When used by experienced surgeons, liposuction using all the techniques can give very good results.

Answer: Burn from liposuction! What causes this to happen? There is a technique of liposuction that uses heat in order to try and assist with skin shrinkage during recovery. If not performed appropriately, patient's can develop either an internal burn to the skin, or at the site of entry into the skin. Careful attention to detail can avoid this, though results tend to be equivalent between the heated and non-heated liposuction techniques.

Answer: Burns Hello dear, thanks for your question. It is not unusual to have a burning sensation persisting several weeks after liposuction or tummy tuck. During the course of these procedures, the normal sensory nerves are stretched or otherwise traumatized, and during the healing process there is inflammation around the nerves that may create abnormal sensations such as "raw" and "burning" pain, even in response to normal stimuli. These "Dysesthesias" may be worse if ultrasonic liposuction was used during your procedure. But also Skin burns can occur from ultrasonic liposuction or mechanical abrasion. The wand used in for ultrasonic liposuction may get relatively hot enough to burn the skin around the incisions or the skin above the area of fat to be removed.Skin burns can also occur from the constant back and forth movement of the cannula on the skin during the liposuction procedure. These burns usually heal well and do not leave noticeable scars but it may take up to a year to see the final scar maturation.Good luck :)
