I am 44 years old, and at 39 I had an heart attack with a spontaneous artery rupture. I was a nice girl, slim as normal after pregnancy, really slim before. I can't do liposuction, due to my therapy.Which is the best solution for my awful abdomen (especially upper, the back a little bit the arms and my DD breast?) I am not looking for miracles but I'd like to take back my self and a part of my life. What can I do without putting on risk my life (I am single mother) in the next few weeks?
Answer: Non-operative fat reduction It certainly sounds like you are at high risk for any surgery. Or, at least at a risk which is not worth it for simple cosmetic interventions. My recommendation to you is to investigate some of the newer generation of lasers and machines which can reduce fat nonoperatively. They are not as drastically effective as surgical options such as liposuction, but in someone like you, it is better safe than sorry. Cool sculpting can have good results, if you are and appropriately selected patient, with realistic expectations and understanding that you may need more than one treatment. I would visit someone in your area that offers this. Best of luck!Dr. SubbioBoard-Certified Plastic SurgeonNewtown Square/Philadelphia, PA

Answer: Cool sculpting as an alternative to liposuction. I'm not certain why you cannot have liposuction but if that is indeed the case cool sculpting is a technique that can remove unwanted fat non-surgically. It's rather inefficient but certainly does work.

Answer: Nonsurgical options First of all you need to have an assessment in regards to true risk in regards to elective procedures.Liposuction is a very low impact procedure is done in moderate amounts. The procedure can easily be done with local Anastasia avoiding general anesthesia.many cardiologist or internist give medical clearance for this procedure for patients who have coronary disease. If you've recently had a bypass and stent then your coronary vessels May be in good enough shape to easily tolerates I minimally invasive procedure. The best non-surgical fat removal option is cool sculpting. This fat freezing technique is proven to give some benefits though the number one complaint is a lack of results.Another important concept is having a proper assessment as to what is the most appropriate procedure for you.For example many women who have had pregnancies develop abdominal muscle separation and skin laxity. These can only be treated by undergoing an abdominoplasty.an abdominoplasty unlike liposuction is a highly invasive procedure requiring general anesthesia and has a long recovery. If your true diagnosis is skin laxity and muscle separation then there's no point in looking for a fat removal procedures.Breast reduction also requires general anesthesia but is not nearly as invasive as an abdominoplasty. My recommendation to you is to get accurate information as to the true risk of each of these procedures as it relates particularly to you and your heart condition. Many patients with various underlying medical conditions have elective surgery, safely, on a regular basis. The most important aspect is getting accurate information and proper assessment by the right doctors.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
