No, it is not possible to lose that amount of weight with liposuction. Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, it is instead a procedure that can help you to shape your body into a more pleasing shape, which can give the appearance of having lost weight in some cases. The ideal liposuction candidate has areas of localized fat they want to reduce. I recommend losing weight through diet, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle in addition to visiting a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to discuss your options regarding liposuction.
Liposuction can make dramatic changes in body contour, but you cannot lose any dramatic amount of weight with it.Kenneth Hughes, MDBeverly Hills, CA
Liposuction is useful in contouring areas of the body. It does not lead to weight loss. It does not tighten the skin. I recommend that patients lose weight to improve health and reduce body weight. I recommend liposuction to reshape and contour the body to improve appearance. The skin tone also has to be fairly good to be a good candidate for lipo. Hope this helps!
Always remember that liposuction is an aesthetic procedure and not a weight loss procedure. With that in mind I would follow a strict diet and exercise program to lose the weight and then see a plastic surgeon for possible body contouring procedures. Best of luck.
Unfortunately, liposuction does not result in much weight loss. It is a contouring procedure to remove areas of excess fat. It is not possible to lose the kind of weight you desire with liposuction.
Hello tylen,Thanks for your question.Unfortunately liposuction is not a weight loss operation. It is a sculpting operation best designed for patients near ideal body weight who have localized fat deposits they can lose with exercise. It would be best for you to lose the weight via appropriate diet and exercise first for safety and the best results.Good luck,Dr. Shah
The only surgical procedure which make a person to lose weight is the Gastric Sleeve or Bypass. There is NO way you may lose 50 lbs just doing liposuction.Liposuction procedure becomes very risky when we pass the limit of 3-5 litters of fat, which means 6-9 lbs. So if you want to lose weight you have to do it on your own: exercise and diet or a Bariatric procedure.Be encouraged.Dr. Cardenas
Determining who is a candidate for liposuction has much less to do with overall weight than it does with fat distribution. There is a point in obesity were liposuction simply becomes an inappropriate procedure and the patient simply needs weight loss.It is not possible to lose 50 pounds from liposuction. It is however possible for patients wing 200 pounds to have a dramatic improvement in their shape and Contor if they are a good candidate for the procedure.what determines if someone is a good candidate for liposuction depends on their primary diagnosis. If the main problem is subcutaneous fat or fat between the skin and muscle layer The liposuction is typically the treatment of choice. The phrase if you can pinch and we can take it comes to mind.If the diagnosis is anything other than this the liposuction it becomes much more limited. For example people who have skin laxity or carry excess of intra-abdominal fat will not do as well with liposuction. Without an examination or pictures it's not possible to tell if you would potentially be a candidate for this procedure. My experience has been very high patient satisfaction in high-volume liposuction when patient selection is done appropriately.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
Thank you for the question and liposuction is not a diet procedure and it would not be possible to remove that much fat in one sitting. I would seek a program where they would help you lose weight on your own through a managed diet and then offer liposuction when you reach your goal. One might call it a business plan for your health to get you to your goal!Dr. Corbin
The ideal liposuction candidate is one who is within their ideal body weight range and has unwanted areas of fat that have not changed with diet and exercise. You want to begin your weight loss journey and use liposuction as the final contour for the areas of concern. Best wishes!
It certainly sounds like you are at high risk for any surgery. Or, at least at a risk which is not worth it for simple cosmetic interventions. My recommendation to you is to investigate some of the newer generation of lasers and machines which can reduce fat nonoperatively. They are not as...
Thank you for your question and photos. Liposuction of the mons can be performed as is a fairly common area that is liposuctioned. Please be seen by a surgeon who is board-certified in plastic surgery and is an expert in liposuction to determine what the price would be as it varies...
I'd suggest hyperbaric oxygen treatments, lymphatic massage, and venus legacy treatments at this time. Best, Dr. Emer.
Generally, these kind of supplements are not recommended by doctors. If you must, 1 month after your surgery should be ample time to recover and it should not affect the results of surgery in any way.
Extreme pain isnt normal and I suggest speaking to your physician. You look very bruised so this may be a consequence of your aggressive procedure but you want to ensure there is no infection, seroma, or hematoma. Best, Dr. Emer.
I would wait to have an elective procedure like liposuction until you are healed from the joint surgery . You also put the joint at more risk for infection and potential blood clots. Best, Dr. Emer.
