Can Botox be applied to the nose to stop sweating?

I was told my my dermatologist that she cannot apply botox to my nose to stop my nose sweating. I just read from another Dr. in realself that he applies 10 doses to nose to stop sweating. What is the truth?

Botox can be used on the nose to decrease sweating. I have developed a technique for this that significantly reduces the discomfort associated with the injections. Make sure you find an experienced provider. Best wishes.

Thank you for sharing your question.  Botox can be applied to the nose to stop sweating and although a bit more painful than other areas, topical numbing agents can be applied prior to ease the discomfort.  Hope this helps.

Botox can reduce the sweating on the nose but it is a very sensitive area. if it is really bothering you it is certainly worth a try

While it is possible for botox to be used for hyperhidrosis including the nose, many injectors will not perform the treatment on the nose due to the increased sensitivity of the area.

Yes Botox can stop sweat glands from sweating. It works on the nose but the down side is that this area is much more sensitive.  The injections in the arm pits are much more easily tolerated.  If you have a serious problem with sweating of your nose I would give it a try.  Best of luck

Botox blocks the nerves that supply the eccrine glands, which in turn prevents the glands from sweating. While this remedy is successful in stopping nose sweating, it needs to be repeated every three to six months or it stops working. If Botox doesn't work, see if you're a candidate for endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy, a minimally invasive surgical procedure.
