I'm a sweaty female in general, I'm always warm/hot. Runs in the family. if I get botox and I'm not sweating under my arms.. Wouldn't the sweat need to come out through some other area to compensate? For an example, in the summer I'll sweat under my chest ... So will I sweat more there after underarm botox treatment?
Answer: Where will the sweat go, after underarm Botox for hyperhidrosis? Thank you very much for your question, as it is a good one. Botox can successfully be used to eliminate hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, underneath the arms, as well as on the hands and feet. Botox under the arms will not increase compensatory sweating (in different areas of the body), you will simply continue to perspire as normal everywhere else. The benefits from Botox are temporary, and will last up to three months. At this time, you can elect to have a repeat session to extend your results. My suggestion is to arrange a consultation appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon, experienced in using Botox for hyperhidrosis. During this appointment, he/she can fully explain the technique and determine if it is the right procedure for your needs.

Answer: Botox for Excessive Sweating Thanks for your question. Botox is a very effective treatment for excessive sweating, or hyperhydrosis. When Botox is used in this way, it does not cause extra sweating in other areas of the body, so you will not have to worry about additional sweat under your chest or anywhere else. Best of luck!

Answer: Does Botox Under Arms Cause Sweating Elsewhere? Botox for Hyperhydrosis Doesn't Affect Rest of Body Botox is a neurmodulator that can be used to block the sweat glands in your arm pits to resolve hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating). Hyperhydrosis is a medical condition that can cause a patient extreme social discomfort. In my experience, Botox works extremely well to control excess sweating in a variety of areas, including the hands, armpits, feet, groin and forehead. It is unusual for another, untreated area to become sweatier when Botox was used. Botox only affects the area into which it is injected. One treatment will usually last 6-12 months. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist who has experience using Botox for hyperhydrosis, as it takes special expertise.

Answer: Botox Works Well For Underarm Hyperhidrosis (Excess Sweating) I have been injecting Botox for axillary (underarm) hyperhidrosis for two decades with gratifying results. While there is a theoretical possibility of what is called compensatory hyperhidrosis, I have not personally seen this. What can be expected is a significant reduction in armpit sweating, which, particularly when accompanied by the use of clinical strength deodorants, provides significant relief from this very troublesome and embarassing problem. It is important to consult with a board certified dermatologist with experience and expertise in this nonaesthetic, advanced use of Botox. Best of luck.

Answer: Botox/Xeomin/Dysport for Hyperhidrosis--Excessive Sweating No, it won't cause you to sweat more in other areas. Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating can be controlled with Botox or glycopyrrolate. Multiple areas may require nervous system surgical treatment. Treatment will last 3-6 months.
