Thank you for sharing your question. Yes, Botox does effectively work on craniofacial hyperhidrosis with results lasting up to 6 months. Hope this helps.
Hello, please see below,There are a variety of techniques to decrease sweating:Botox- Botox is helpful in that it can decrease the production of sweat but not odor. It typically lasts about 6 months in the under arm area.Miradry- Miradry uses microwave energy to destroy apocrine and eccrine glands. It is better at eccrine gland destruction than apocrine and is currently only used on the underarm area.RF needling- Can be used anywhere on the body and can destroy both apocrine and eccrine glands. Has become the procedure of choice in my practice for hyperhidrosis due to its effectiveness.Nerve ablation-Not commonly performed anymore as side effects are often worse than treatment and effectiveness is often limited.Oral medications- Too many side effects to be effective.Topical medications- Works by blocking glands. Many patients state how not effective mechanism.Best,Anil Shah
Botox can effectively control excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) in a number of areas, including the face and head. This is a very advanced procedure in any area of the body, but especially so in the face as there are many important nerves and blood vessels located there. You absolutely must find an expert to help you. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist who has expertise in treating the face and head for hyperhidrosis with Botox.
Botox is safe and effective for treating excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) anywhere on the body including the face and scalp. I have treated many people successfully. Most importantly, see a local expert injector & hyperhidrosis expert with extensive experience and training (e.g. a dermatologist) to ensure optimal results and safety.
If you truly have hyperhidrosis in the face and head, Botox can help. However, hyperhidrosis is a medical condition and you should have it verified by your family physician. A board-certified dermatologist will be able to help you control your sweat with Botox, if needed.
Botox and other available neurotoxins work very well for cranio-facial hyperhydrosis. Moreover, there is a good chance that the effect will last much longer than when injections are done for aesthetic reasons. There is always a question of dosing. If you are satisfied with much less than normal sweating there is no need for very large dosing. If you prefer a complete suppression than the dose could be quite high. Remember, you can begin with lower doses and add more until the results are satisfactory. Good luck!
Botox will work on a hyperhidrosis of any area of the face, head and body. You must find an injector who's comfortable with treating you on the face and the scalp. Good luck from New York City
Thank you for your questions and post. Botox will typically begin to "kick in" after 4-7 days, but some may see results earlier. The full effect is usually seen after 7-10 days so two weeks after your injections is a great time for a follow-up with your injector if you are not getting the r...
