Asian Rhinoplasty and mid face augmentation options? (Photo)

Question

I have a sunken mid face and long jaw, which creates an uneven facial profile. I was recommended mid face augmentation using rib cartilage implants along with rhinoplasty on my nose. This is a surgery done by VIPPS in korea but I would rather not travel to Korea. Anyone in the USA do something similar? What are my options? Pros and cons? I do also have a crossbite and assemtrical jaw if that matters. Main concern is the sunken mid face.

Greetings from Istanbul, Turkey. Given your concerns, my primary recommendation would be both upper and lower jaw surgeries to position the lower jaw backward and the upper jaw forward. Subsequently, a rhinoplasty can be performed to further define and enhance your nose. Following these procedures, I believe there will be no need for a midface lift. If the results from these surgeries do not fully meet your expectations, cheek implants could be considered to achieve the desired facial contour. Hope this helps and best wishes on your journey.

You are showing retruded maxillary bone and protruding lower jaw, and the most fundamental and effective surgery is two jaw surgery. Midface augmentation using rib cartilage is not recommended in this situation considering aesthetic and functional result. If nasal dorsal augmentation and tip projection surgery are performed together with or after two jaw surgery, very satisfactory results will be obtained, and I hope that good surgeons can be found in the United States.

The best way to achieve what you described is through Asian rhinoplasty. An in-person evaluation by a specialist in Asian cosmetic surgery will allow you to consider the treatment options for improving the contours of your face. In regards to your midface, facial fat grafting is great for creating a more youthful appearance by decreasing the appearance of shallow areas or increasing volume. During your consultation, your photos can be computer-morphed to show how the changes to your face will affect your appearance. Thank you for your question. There are many ways to augment the midface, from implants to autologous tissue - including cartilage and fat transfer. Most surgeons who perform a good number of facial plastics surgery in the United States are comfortable with these procedures. So I agree that there should be more options available to you outside of having to travel to Korea.

I would seek out a board-certified specialist who has extensive experience facial surgery.
