Dear Thoughtful972341,breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Breast asymmetry may be related to preoperative breast asymmetry, using different implants and gravity due to the weight of implants. To improve asymmetry reducing the larger breast with additionally lifting should help. At times a smaller implant on the larger side to improve the asymmetry. Internal mesh "bra" supports the lower pole of the breast "lifting" and to minimize the sagging.
You may need the implant removed to correct the volume and a repeat breast lift. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Thank you for your question. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to revisionary breast surgery Over many years, I developed a technique called "Reductive Augmentation" in which an internal bra-capsulorrhaphy, mastopexy - lift, and removal of inferior pole breast tissue is performed. This procedure is particularly suitable for patients who would like a more round appearing breast and upper pole fullness, especially in those patients with significan asymmetrylike yours. I have treated many patients with very similar breast issues as yours. I published this technique in the International Journal of Aesthetic Surgery in 2017. Best wishes to you,
Go back to your surgeon and get another lift on the larger side and perhaps remove a small amount of breast tissue. Once lifted and the excess skin is removed, you may be similar in size.
The question is ,how did your breasts look immediately after surgery ?I suspect that your implants are under the muscle .The R implant may have herniated out of the muscle resulting in sagging .this will require revisional surgery
It appears you need a much more aggressive breast lift on one side. Revision fee $6000. Best to virtual consult with to be explained the complete procedure in detail. Good luck.
I suggest you follow up with your provider and discuss your concerns with him or her.To make an assessment on the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we generally need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took.Best,Mats Hagstrom, MD
I would suggest using the breast band, plus considering oral Accolate and external ultrasounds treatments if you are over 6 months from surgery.
Yes, you need to change your implants and get a lift. Don't go much larger or you may just sag again.
