Thank you for your question, not al plastic surgeon use drains, and not all patients need them, however, when I do extensive liposuction I normally use drains to avoid seromas, pockets of fluid collection and to help areas like the abdomen get smoother results and minimize scar tissue. It is not painful to have them with you.
The techniques and post operative care I recommend allow me to not use drains after a BBL. I find them to be unnecessary and my patients prefer not having drains after this procedure. It is best to find a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes inBrazilian butt lifts and performs at least 6-8 BBLs per week.
Drains are not mandatory, and I rarely use them. They do not really hurt when they are removed.Find a board certified plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of Brazilian buttlifts each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
Drains are part of the surgical technique and decision of the surgeon at the time of surgery and medical indication. They are also part of the operative care of the surgeon.Samir Shureih MD. FACSsshureih@msn.com
I do not use drains after a BBL and believe they are unecessary. Having said that. I am very strict about using topi foam and compression garments! So far I have not had a seroma after a Bbl
Drains are over used and left in too long as a rule. Then again I am a believer in either no drains or drains with short stay for most all abdomen, buttocks, and breast procedures. A famous plastic surgeon once said that "if you use drains you will have drainage" Oh so true. Yes drains do cause pain and are best minimally used in my opinion. My Best, Dr C
I do not use drains for buttock augmentation; I find them unnecessary. And in my practice the BBL is the most common procedure. But you need to find a Board Certified PS with extensive experience performing the BBL and with whom you are comfortable. Good luck!
Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. I recommend my patients to allow 2-4 weeks for recovery, and to wait at least 7-10 days before going back to work, but each doctor has their own protocol. I also recommend not to sit for more than 30 mins. every two hours, ...
Thank you for the question. In my practice, no diapers are placed on patients. In regards to going home alone after surgery is not advisable, the patient will be in need of some assistance. If you don't have anyone to assist you, check with your doctro's practice, they might offer recovery homes...
Your hb A 1 c and glucose levels are not that bad. As long as your surgeon feels comfortable performing your procedure you should be fine. Good luck and take care!
