I am looking more specifically at the abdominal fat than the gynecomastia. I have minor gyneomastia and while I want to remove this, I am more interested in liposuction on my abdominal fat. I am skinny everywhere but my stomach and the minor chest fat that I have. I am concerned with removing the results (3, 5, 10 years out) if I remove stomach and chest fat, specifically on someone with Kleinfelter's syndrome. I have been eating healthy and exercising for years, but the stomach fat will not go.
Answer: Liposuction in a patient with Klinefelter's syndrome. I don't have any personal experience but there is no metabolic reason why a patient with Klinefelter syndrome cannot have liposuction.

Answer: Liposuction on Klinefelter's syndrom Dear neighbor, In my 28 years of plastic surgery practice, I have never seen or treated Klinefelter's syndrome. However, this is a male femininazation syndrome due to X chromosomal changes. There should not be any unique problem performing liposuction on that class of patients, because the procedure is simply removal of fat cells. If you have any concerns, consult with your endocrinologist and ask for surgical clearance . As far as your long term concerns , all you have to do is lose the weight, in at least equal amount to the fat removed by the liposuction procedure. Otherwise the fat will accumulate elsewhere and might create some irregularities in the area of liposuction. One excellent way to do it , is by following the nutritional recommendation of the book 'sugar busters' , which is based on low glycemic index food and control of Insulin release. Always , consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Check the before and after pictures in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Answer: Have any doctors performed Liposuction on a person with Klinefelter's Syndrome? Performing liposuction on a person with Kleinfelter's syndrome is no different than anyone else. Once the fat cells are removed they cannot come back but if you gain weight again it could come back in other locations. The only way to know for sure if you are a candidate is to book a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to see what your options are. Best of luck!

Answer: Liposuction and Klinefelter syndrome I have not personally treated a patient with Klinefelter syndrome. After a quick bit of reading, I am quite surprised since the rate of Klinefelter syndrome is one and 500 males in the United States. I don't see why that should be a contraindication for having liposuction as long as someone is a good candidate and there are no other contraindications. I suggest an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon to see if this is something that may be appropriate for you if you are interested.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
